Predict the score?
Re: Aston Villa v Manchester United
villabromsgrove wrote:Lambert should be saying to the team "look everyone thinks we're going to get hammered today, so let's go out there and take it to them for 90 minutes. Get in their faces, give them the shoulder, rap their ankles, throw the kitchen sink at them, and if we still get hammered at least we had a right go!"

2-0 or 3-0 to utd
Absolutely no shocks in team selection either.

We probably won't stop Utd's talented attackers scoring goals, but they've got a poor defence. We have to go at them and score a couple while hoping that they have an off target day themselves.

Lambert says we are down to the bare bones, and some of the youngsters might make the bench. It doesn't give the younger player's much confidence when you put it like that Paul!

I'd have Grealish start straight off. He could replace the bloke that's eaten n'zogbia.

When they were trying to get Grealish to sign a new contract I bet they didn't say, "you may make the bench when we're down to the bare bones!"kimbo wrote:Just getting his excuses in ain't he.villabromsgrove wrote:Lambert says we are down to the bare bones, and some of the youngsters might make the bench. So would I, what do we have to lose, n'Zogbia has been not playing ,the lay off for one year has taken its toll.villabromsgrove wrote:gdav wrote:I'd have Grealish start straight off. He could replace the bloke that's eaten n'zogbia.
It's like playing with ten men with N'Zogbia in the team.
Trouble is Lambert has his pets.

Grealish and Bacuna wide. Sanchez and Delph central.
Bacuna can help out Lowton if needs be.
Benteke battering them and Gabby or Weimann running the channels.
Might have a chance then

Re: Aston Villa v Manchester United
I can see us going 3 at the back and matching up with them; only problem is, we don't play 3 at the back under Lambo, we do 5 at the back.
Bit unorthodox but I wouldn't mind a 3-6-1
Guzan in goal
Okore, Vlaar and Clark as the 3 CB's
Sanchez as the defensive screen
Lowton, Bacuna, Delph and Cissokho across the middle
Grealish in the free role
Benteke up top
Not the ideal players for that system but it might help us try and win the midfield area and stop them playing.
Maybe I'm chucking out that idea because none of the conventional ones inspire me with ny confidence, so may as well try something different

I have no doubt that lamberk will park the bus and while we are doing that manc you titted will be on the pitch and happily scoring lots of goals. Christmas its depressing, mother in law other people's screaming kid. At least I have the football to look foward to . Ohhhhh yes dohhhhhhhhh.

Re: Aston Villa v Manchester United
I liked Kimbo's 4-1-4-1. If we go with that, I'll ammend my earlier 4-0 prediction and go for 4-1.
Seriously though, if we go into this match with a real "fuck it, let's do 'em" attitude, I'd put money on a proper end-to-end, ding dong match with a 3-2 win for us.
But I just cannot imagine Lambett being anything other than dour and miserable. So a 4-1 loss it is.

Re: Aston Villa v Manchester United
I looked at BBC this morning and saw it was Olly Murs doing the predictions. I thought, I bet he's a Man Utd fan. He seems the glory hunting unimaginative useless twat type, and lo and behold, he is.
I didn't thnk it was possible to have a lower opinion of him than I already did, but apparently there was still some wiggle room.

Can't see us getting much today. I'd at VERY least like to see us go at them. It's one thing out passing Leicester, let's see if we try and play football against the best, or if we revert to type.
Give me some entertainment villa as I'm going to be wrapping presents at the same time..
