Aston Villa v Manchester United

It's that time of year again, good will to all men and three points to Man U with best wishes from all those at Villa Park. Man U absolutely love Villa park, so will it be any different this year or just another Manc Merry Christmas?

I'm still going with Vlaar, Okore and Clark in defence with Cissokho and Lowton as wing backs. Sanchez in the middle with Delph and either Gabby and Benteke up front or Benteke on his own with Wiemann on the right of Delph and Sanchez. We're a bit buggered though with not much backup if any of them get injured. Game plan will revert to defend at all costs and hope Benteke can attack on his own.

We might as well go at them, because we're not going to keep out Van Persie, Rooney and Falcao for 90 minutes. 1 - 3 for me.

Ah but Paul Lambert isn't us though is he? He's looking at the best case scenario, which is ManU don't score. AV win comes below a draw and just behind fewer than five goals conceded. So I think the wing backs option gives us that extra body in defence. On the plus side Vlaar and Okore are good at long balls, much more so that Guzan, and I think Clark is pretty good too. Okore can sit slightly ahead of Vlaar and Clark.

I'm actually glad Richardson is out, I don't see him contributing much to the team when he does play and I suspect he would have been played on the left somewhere. Cissokho, Clark and Delph will make a better combination there. I have no objection to Richardson as a squad filler but we're still a couple of injuries away from needing him to start.

I'm bracing myself for a comfortable away win. Probably a cruel one - you know the type, we bravely batter at them for 70 minutes only to fall to a few sucker punches towards the end.

If I had a mortgage I would be putting it on Man U.

Wouldn't be too upset with a 352 but I can't see that being in Lambert's planning. 433 has worked so well for so long so why change it now?

Didn't we beat ManC last season with a surprise three at the back and two wing backs? They set up for our normal 4-3-3 and we nabbed the points.

If he must use a 3 back formation I suggest a 3-4-3 with the CDM in front of the back 3,

We could even deploy Senderos in at the CDM so we can move Sanchez further up field, strike force I'd start with Benteke and Gabby and then 60 minutes I'd sub Gabby off and bring on Robinson and swap Grealish for N'Zogbia.

It will be the same old formation from Lambert, defend hope Man U make a mistake.
And the good old lone striker sneak attack,
We should go all out attack, try somthing different for a change.

2 mistakes by the undroppable Guzan, one from Lowton who won't give a fuck anyway and an own goal from the black Opie.

Lambert will announce that he was pleased with that and thought we deserved at least a draw but guess what...we go again.

I realised after I put the poll options up that I should have included 0-2, 0-3, 0-4, 1-3, 1-4 etc. etc. as we're playing a bogey team!

Yeah, I went for other as I'm expecting an easy win for Man U.

I really hope we can get a win against these it's long overdue although they have won 6 on the bounce they haven't been playing that well they can be beaten.

Just can't see it mate, Lambert has reverted back to park the bus crap and Van Gaal's united have hit form and with RVP back you all know the story with him vs Villa. We will be the exact high scoring boost that will keep the critics off LVG's back.

Lambert's been told to leave the bus in the car park. It could be a better game for that, but the outcome will be the same: AV 1 - Man U 3.

A bit of fight is all we are looking for VB, we know we can't realistically win this with the woeful tactics on offer, but for me it would take the hurt away from a big loss if we had a real battle and not just submit and let them walk all over us.

I hear you mate, I seriously can't remember a recent game where we took it to Man U home or away, last time I can really think of when we stuck it to Man U was under MON and we beat them 1-0 at Old Trafford.

lol yeah bud if I didn't laugh I'd be chilling with William McGregor coating off Lerner, Lambert and his cronies. Reason I said stuck it to Man U was because it shut all those wank stain plastic Mancs up in Brum, oh happy days it was.

Just to add all the plastic Brum Mancs in the pub were winding Villa fans up saying we were going to get our asses handed to us and singing their shitty "united" chant, was so brilliant when Gabby stuck the ball in the net and then they couldn't get back into the game.

Lambert should be saying to the team "look everyone thinks we're going to get hammered today, so let's go out there and take it to them for 90 minutes. Get in their faces, give them the shoulder, rap their ankles, throw the kitchen sink at them, and if we still get hammered at least we had a right go!"
