There is an awful lot of that at Villa Park!
Yep and it really gripes me.

It's still really early days to be fair. We don't know what goes on behind closed doors so I'm not going to judge him just yet.

Re: Tom Fox: CEO
When anybody starts a new job they should be full of enthusiasm and raring to go and set their mark on the new job.
None of that has happened here; Tom Fox has come in and basically just put his head down below the parapet!
Personally I think that he was brought in to do a job under strict instructions from Lerner.
That might explain the changed football style (i.e. more procession (with little end product)) from Lambert after a chat with Tom Fox but I don’t expect a lot to change until Lerner decides to go!
Lerner no longer cares about the club, so as long as the financial side of things hold up Lerner won’t bother with anything else and that could include relegation!

Re: Tom Fox: CEO
I've heard differently, lots of structural changes, new commercial director incoming, you'd think Doogan would be replaced too, not to mention copious changes already made to the football structure, with more to come. I'm of the belief that TF is here to make changes and has the authority to do so. Time will tell...

Re: Tom Fox: CEO
The thing is, Fox has been working at Arsenal. Whether or not people like them as a team, there is no doubt that they are run fantastically well off the pitch. The stadium alone is the best I have been to, and that includes Old Trafford, Celtic Park and the new Wembley.
The experience he has had there can be of benefit to us. Much more than anything Faulkner ever had, that goes without saying. I think people expecting sweeping changes instantly are being unfair. He needs time to assess everything before making the changes, and I don't think we can judge him too much just yet. We'll see over the next few months what happens, and if Lerner is still here in August, we'll definitely know whether or not Fox has stamped his own authority on things, or if he is just another status quo man for Lerner.
(By which of course I mean maintaining the way Lerner wants things done, and NOT anything to do with the band; who by the way, I happen to have a bit of a soft spot for as they are my dad's favourite band, but that's a whole other conversation)

Re: Tom Fox: CEO
I hope that Fox is able to do his job, and gets to see any increase on the commercial side of the club reinvested wisely. One things for certain is theres plenty of room for improvement at the Villa right across the board and hopefully he can make a difference, as for me external investment via new ownership is continuing to look unlikely.
If he can work some of the magic he did for Arsenal then fingers crossed theres a long term strategy for improvements at Villa to reap the benefits of his hard work.

Well we will see if Fox is just another 'Yes man', as even he must see that Villa cannot continue like this and not get relegated!

Totally agree. If he hasn't sacked Lambert by the end of the week I will come to the conclusion that Fox is just part of the overall problem.

Good for you, I like it but it won't make a blind bit of difference except to vent your own frustration!
I lost count of the number of letters I wrote to HDE/O'Leary but it helped to alleviate some of the frustrations so it helped me!
Now, I can't honestly be bothered anymore, it all seems so inevitable somehow!

Never give up hope lads, it's the ONLY thing we have. Hope can fuel the appetite to get the current buffoon out of his job, hope can rally fans to protest (by not attending hopefully and finally showing enough is enough) how many times have they not shown up? About time we didn't.
So keep the HOPE, Stay Away and use the only voice we have (A collective one) and vote with our feet, that along with emails and general dissatisfaction/outrage CAN make a difference imo

I believe TF has already stated that he wouldn't have anything to do with sacking a manager. I wonder if PL and TF are on a similar level in Randys eyes, ones there to look after the business and the others there to relegate us.. i mean look after the football side of things.

Has he? Any chance of a link? I can't recall that line at all and would find it astonishing (the word starts with 'Aston' though, so who knows?!) would love to see it though....

Re: Tom Fox: CEO
Don't get all this talk of walking out and not turning up to the games. Surely it would be more effective to turn up to the games in numbers and call for Lambert's head for 90 minutes. It would make the media take some (long overdue) notice and put more pressure on Fox/Lerner/whoever to take some action, as opposed to a few more thousand not coming to the games.

That's true enough but the horse has bolted on that....fans have voted with their feet and jogged on to something more pleasing to do of a weekend.
The media are starting to turn as well. Slowly. When that picks up momentum we may well see action as sponsors will start asking questions.

Re: Tom Fox: CEO
Loads of people just go for the sake of going, as they have season tickets (my mates do) but they can't be bothered anymore to show displeasure at the game, they just want it over so they can enjoy themselves away from the ground! The game is just incidental, something that has to be endured to socialise with your mates.
