Do your job Fox

I don't honestly think we'll score that many, Dave. :)

Re: Tom Fox: CEO
can see us getting a maximum of 2 point out of the next 12 and thats me being really optimistic about it, and even if we gather less points I expect Lambert to still be in the job. All this is doing is making Tom Fox's job really hard. How is he supposed to sell the club to sponsors etc when the only way in which we resemble a football team is that we start each game with 11 (piss poor) players on the pitch.

I finally snapped and have had my say in an email. All for nothing no doubt, but I can't stay silent.

Trotters shared his email with the mods and where I would have expected a passionate rant, I found a stunningly well written appeal for action. Who needs Shakespeare when we've got Trotters!Trotters wrote:I finally snapped and have had my say in an email. All for nothing no doubt, but I can't stay silent.

Re: Tom Fox: CEO
Tom Fox has got it massively wrong with his response to Roy Keane leaving. He says "Our focus now will be on working with Paul to identify the right person to work along with him and to help us continue on our journey to return the club to it's rightful place in the Premier League."
You still haven't got it Tom .... we're not continuing a journey with Paul Lambert, we've reached the end of the line!

Come on, what do you expect him to say? "It's a good job the prick has gone as Lambo will be joining him on Monday"?

Re: Tom Fox: CEO
This is the only version I could find on youtube. There's one embedded on our facebook page that has the start of it where he thanks the match day staff for "facing our supporters" and "putting yourselves into harms way" with our supporters with it being "difficult time for the club over the last few years..."
Edit: full version now on.

Re: Tom Fox: CEO
I find it insulting that someone should say that we need stability and expect us to accept Lambert providing it. There are very few who have a good word to say about him. I just hope that Fox's statement is the dreaded Vote of Confidence.

Re: Tom Fox: CEO
I've said it a couple of times now .... pat yourself on the back all those who emailed Tom Fox. The decision to change "product on the field" coincides with the many eloquent emails sent to TF. It wasn't something Lambert chose to do, it was an order from above imo.lukevilla wrote:interesting he says about playing good football and this is what lambert says he wants but lambert has only said it for a couple of weeks!

Re: Tom Fox: CEO
Tom Fox went some way to acknowledge that a lot of fans want Lambert sacked. In last weeks interview he said that in the business world that he comes from you don't sack senior people, you work with them to improve things.
We may not agree with the fact that Lambert can change and improve, but Tom Fox obviously thinks that he can support PL through future improvements. He's working with Lambert on a day to day basis so he must have seen something about Lambert that makes him think it could work.
TF is a winner by inclination and if PL fails to change things, I believe Fox will act.
Ps: I've just re-read my posts and I'm beginning to sound like a Tom Fox groupie .... I'm just trying to look for the positives, and TF appears to be trying to improve the club.

Total corporate bollix IMHO.
The most interesting part of that clip was the big woman in purple who couldn't wait for him to finish his speech before going up for more food.

Insiders at the club are impressed with him. No one said the same about Faulkner, so that's progress of a sort. I expect changes at AVFC and I believe Tom Fox will have a pivotal role in those changes.smetro wrote:Hes only been here a short while - but I haven't seen\heard anything earth shattering from him - seems content to tick over

Really don't see anything positive in that at all, just bland corporate speak, he even speaks without enthusiasm!

How much clout does he have though ? - If Lerner wants to keep Lambert I reckon TF will toe the line......ergo more of the same.

Re: Tom Fox: CEO
I think that while Lerner is the owner of AVFC Lambert will remain manager. (barring disaster) Imo Tom Fox has accepted that and is trying to get the best out of a less than ideal situation. I think that the attempt to play more attractive football (not very well yet admittedly) is a direct result of Fox telling Lambert what needs to be done. This transfer window will give us a better idea of whether TF has any real influence on Randy Lerner.smetro wrote:villabromsgrove wrote:Insiders at the club are impressed with him. Re: Tom Fox: CEO
You have to work with the tools you've been given and, by and large, Tom Fox has some decent tools - blunt, but decent.
Lambert is the one tool (and the most critical one) that's letting everything down at the moment but he's also the most likely to change. The name, colours, stadium, etc won't change but the manager, eventually, will.
So he'd be stupid to dig his heels in and make ultimatums over Lambert. He sounds like he's accepted the lump of shit he's been given and, from fan feedback as well as stats and media commentary, has subtly tried to massage it into a more refined lump of shit.
The last two seasons can easily be spun to put the blame squarely on MON's head and proof offered to show that we're coming out of this period if austerity and into something much better. I know it's shit, you know it's shit and he knows it's shit. But sponsors may well buy it. And I'd back TF to be the bloke to sell it.
