Ted, when do any club ever give statements you are looking for, whether Villa are Champions of Europe or fourth division , the fans are their last concern!

Delph probably insisted on a clause in his new contract, he could of walked for free, the player had the club over a barrel on that one.

What's "at the lib"?

Players come & players go, if they don't want to be part of Villa moving forward, then fcuk em

The fans are not being treated with contempt, we pay to support the team whatever their position, or you vote with your feet & turn your back !

Our best players ? They have been shite for five years, they all need replacing anyway!

The strategy for a club ? What sort of request is that ? Do you think anyone at the club wants to ruin it , possibly get relegated & thus halving the possible value of the club ?

Lerner has told us he wants to sell, but only to someone suitable who can move us forward!

What more info do you need ? We are all Villa , support them or vote with you feet !

Lets put this thread to bed Delph was a money grabber as most footballers are now no loyalty to the club who stood by him when he was badly injured, now hes fit and fireing hes off to the big money, fed up of talking about him, bring in his replacement we move on, WE ARE ASTON VILLA and we will get better, i'm sure he will live to regret the move, November 7th will be interesting that's if he gets on the bench. :moon:

What are the club going to say ? "Delph made a fool of us too". He's gone. He's proved to the world (Man City fans included) that he can't be trusted and what he says means nothing.

He can win all he likes but no fan at any club is going to take him to their bosom. He's betrayed the trust he had placed in him. No one will trust him again.

Just seen a post on the Sky Sports transfer news site where he blames Mich Richards for him leaving, saying Richards told him that "Man City is the best club in the world and that he had fun there" - Thats right mate try and blame someone else, what a tool. On the bright side, Sky Sports are also reporting we have agreed a deal for Amvi.

Read on one of these stat sites he had 42 shots on goal last season, the second worst shots to goal ratio.

My last word on Delph he can be replaced like all players, it's the way he did it, is the problem went back on his word. he might as well kiss his English career goodbye. Not a bad price for a bench warmer is another way to look at it.

I rated Delph for us, mostly cause he had the industry that's so important for survival. If we replace that industry, I'm not even sure we'll notice he's gone.

The fact that Delph did what he did and Benteke didn't even thank the club or the fans in the media tells you how much they cared about the club. But what's to be expected. It's a money game.

I get the anger about Delph's words and his double about turn, but :

Walsall v Aston Villa at the Bescot Saturday

A few hours earlier

Real Madrid v Man City at the MCG.

I don't blame him for finally deciding that he couldn't turn down the move.

The fact that he struggled to decide has ended up embarrassing him, but I wish him all the best.

It is me Fpuppys, and it is my opinion. Delph enjoyed being at Villa, we looked after him well when he was injured and having a bad time, and he repaid us by working his arse off over the last couple of seasons to help keep us in the Premier. His England profile also reflected well on Villa at a time when we were/are a media laughing stock.

Ironically it was his attachment to Villa that got him into the bind that he's currently in. He loved it here, he loved being club captain .... yet his big mistake seems to have been wearing his heart on his sleeve. If he'd shut up like Benteke, and if he wandered around the pitch in the last few games like Benteke did when he was obviously fed up, then he'd have been fine.

In the end although his heart said Villa, his agent, the media, probably his wife and family and definitely his wallet shouted so loud that he made the decision to go.

If he hadn't cared about Villa he would have said nothing, and then he would have ended up being better thought of. I find that strange.

We've replaced him with a better player for the same money and possibly lower wages. I think we should be thanking Delph for clearing some space in the squad and heading off to weaken the opposition.
