Re: Fabian Delph
Mail are reporting the deal was all set to go ahead - but then Delph had a change of heart.
Being Impartial and from a football point of view it would have been a bad move for Delph - sure he might have had a fatter pay check, and have some dubious honours, but he wouldn't have been a regular starter.

Gobsmacked in truth!!! Bliney. Simple change of heart? Heard there's a gazillionaire in for us at the last minute and just about to do the deal with RL? What's the deal?

You can become a villa legend son, well done.
Are you watching and listing Benteke?

Benteke...
Sorry! Couldn't help being a smartarse.
Well, he's not gone either until there's an official announcement, he doesn't need to say anything and nor does the club. The Liverpool nonsense has gone away, he's under contract, he's flown out to Portugal. Maybe because Delph hasn't gone away to Portugal that's why the rumour started and the club and Delph felt they should say something. He's about to have a baby, he doesn't need any of this nonsense going on.

Could it have anything to do with QuickBooks? We can speculate for day's on end and still be way off.

They've pulled this stunt before - "pretend" a player is leaving & then announce that they're staying because then it feels like we've made a signing!

SOTC.
Just need CB to snub the scousers too. Fair play to him, might not be "world class", might not be even the best midfielder in England, but this is a bold statement with integrity and I am more than happy to still have him.

Don't think that was the case here but what odds the Geuye deal hits a snag now

What? After it's been confirmed by the official web site? Some people need to wind their necks in.

Re: Fabian Delph
In the takeover thread I posted so much negativity about the club brought on by this Delphi saga. I didn't post any blame on delph but thought it was indicative of how the club was run. I have woken up here in New Zealand to find out he is staying and England won the cricket.
Delighted he is staying, and along with gueye could make a bloody decent partnership. NOTE TO TOM FOX: Delph acually released a statement for the fans to see. Do you see how communication settles nerves??

Yep - never overlook the obvious.
One fly in the ointment though - was why the deal appeared to get to the advanced stages.......if you believe what you read...

Re: Fabian Delph
It must of been a change of heart for some reason. Been hearing people say he was never going & it was paper talk etc but it was coming from so many people in so many different places there must of been truth in it.
Something or someone convinced him to stay at the 11th hour if you ask me but who??

Re: Fabian Delph
But he was he signed a 4 year contract, so how can you sign a contract but be on a Bosman, this is the thing with the interweb, to many people saying things that are not true, bring back the old teletext and club call as the only way to get info about your club.Trotters wrote:
HH stating Delph was on a Bosman and fans reaction is what changed his mind (???)

It's a baffling tweet. If he's felt the pressure of getting the Delph call wrong and has come out with that in error, I'm glad his consortium failed.

Re: Fabian Delph
I suspect that some of what he's said is missing. If I had to guess I think he means that Delph is shocked that the fans are angry at him, after he signed a contract earlier in the year, meaning that we don't have to lose him on a bosman.

I have to say what is it with HH suddenly reappearing on Twitter and spouting off as if he had insider knowledge on the takeover and saying how wrong john percy was re exvlusivity ... it just seems like he is holding Court with everyone hanging of his words
