McCognac cannot go on loan to our rivals. That's beyond fucking stupid. Sell him to them for a good chunk of change or not at all.

Agree on Veretout, but I think he was a bit slow for the English leagues.

Regarding McCormack I'm not sure either. Normally I'd say we should force a fee from them, but again what if our economy is shite? It's a good point regarding Sunderland and how they might be a direct rival, I don't think they will, but they could.

I wouldn't be surprised if McCormack did much better up north than with us though.

I'd be majorly surprised if we let McCormack go on loan to a potential promotion rival, and some are even suggesting that we're going to be paying some of his wages too. Imagine if he helped them back into the premier league at our expense, would be a huge embarrassment for the club.

If such a deal did happen I could only imagine that the club know something about his state that we don't, and are utterly convinced that he won't have any impact whatsoever.

In reality I think we'll get around £6m for him.

Dont understand the player going out on loan when we have said we need to sell to buy, that tying up at least one incoming player

I guess it also depends on the loan fee earned and getting his wages off the books. Plus IF he does well his value may rise from wherever it is now.

The only way McCormack should be allowed to leave on loan is with the other club servicing 100% of salary, a £150k per month loan fee, and Villa retaining the right to recall in January. I don't think Sunderland will agree to this.

Veretout has signed for Fiorentina permanent deal he showed flashes of what he could do but obviously had very high regard for himself & not prepared to help us, too bad tara mate you had your chance.

Well said. I thought there was a really good player in there but he doesn't want to be here so bon chance and au revoir. We have Lansbury and Hourihane, I'm very happy with both. Well, until Bruce fucks them off and they both want to leave to save their careers!

McCormack's being linked to Derby, Reading, Hull and Leeds now, but that could just be because they've heard he's available on loan and worth the risk. When he does go, it will be interesting to see how we replace him.

I just don't think we need to replace him. Gabby is looking impressive atm, so I'm willing to give him a chance. Then you got Kodjia, Hogan, RHM, McGirdy, O'Hare and Davis. Surely that's enough.

Yes, that goal in Germany was his second in a year. It's definitely RHM's time to prove himself. The only issue with Hogan is keeping up his confidence if he's not playing all the time and playing to his strengths. If those strengths are completely different to Kodjia's, does Bruce have it in him to work out how to play two different formations if Kodjia is unfit/unable to play/off playing for his country etc? It will be interesting to see how he plays Kodjia and Hogan together as he undoubtably will, in a sort of 'they both score goals so should be on the pitch together to score as many goals as possible' kind of way.

If Hogan, Kodjia or both get injured then we'd be looking extremely lightweight. And I'm not sure we can rely on our other options for goals, some of them will probably go out on loan as well; it's a pity Hepburn-Murphy missed pre-season and the chance to win a place in and around the first team, he did score on his comeback yesterday though for the u23s.

Also apart from his goal the other day, I don't think Agbonlahor has looked that much of a threat in pre-season, If McCormack goes, I think we'll definitely sign a replacement.

I just can't agree. If the very unlikely were to happen and Kodjia and Hogan are injured/suspended at the same time, we can play Gabby and have O'Hare/RHM/McGirdy play off him. If Gabby is facked as well, we can have Davis as a hold up player and O'Hare/RHM/McGirdy run off him.

If we don't accept the idea of using our academy players as rotation options, then we will never be a good club for youngsters and it begs the question why we should have an academy in the first place.

This is the championship, not the champions league. We have developed countless players for this league the last 20 years. Our youngsters ARE good enough if given a chance. But for some reason we keep signing very expensive proven players that flop with us like McCormack and we let other clubs enjoy the fruits of our academy products both on the pitch and financially. It's time for a change.

Good to see other clubs coming in for McCormack, hopefully we will get a better deal out of it!

Actually agree with @Joppe84 on this one.
This is the Championship when all said and done, so the youngsters if they want to progress should be able to come in and make an impression at this level, so we should actively encourage them to step upto the plate.
It looks like that is the policy for this season (which I am all in favour of) so on that premise I wouldn't replace McCormack when he goes.

Aren't you the one who's been calling for us to sign Forestieri all summer?

I'd like to see us utilise more youth players next season, but if McCormack goes that leaves us with just the two proven goal scorers at this level, we'll need one more of a similar level.

Having three senior strikers shouldn't block the young players' progress, if they're good enough they'll get a chance. Besides out of the youngsters mentioned it's only really Davis and Hepburn-Murphy who are what you might call out and out strikers, O'Hare and McKirdy often play in midfield or out wide, I've seen them both compared to Grealish.

If anyone's blocking the youngsters progress it wouldn't be McCormack's replacement, it would be Agbonlahor, who's still being given a chance despite having done nothing for years now, at least he's putting the effort in now I guess, so just have to hope that he can do better next season

I'm all for using the youth but Kodjia likes to play on his own and it might be Bruce wastes a few matches when both he and Hogan are fit working out if it's a good idea playing them both. Hogan seems to like playing with someone else, so if that's not Kodjia or McCormack, who is it? Gabby? He can't score goals though, so while he can bully the opposition etc I'd much rather see Grealish, Hourihane or virtually anyone else on the pitch who can free up an attacking midfielder to get forward and help out or chip in a few goals. That isn't Gabby, really. If Hogan is best served with a striker next to him then who? Audrey hasn't had a pre-season and needs to get training with him. The rest of them, well, who knows?

This is all only a 'what if' though, we should be fine with Kodjia, Hogan* and Audrey, plus Bruce has had a whole summer working on goals from midfield. Not that I think we've seen any in pre-season, hasn't it just been defenders from corners and strikers scoring so far?

Saturday's match is going to be very interesting. Decent opposition, the likes of Grealish and Audrey fit and with Whelan and Elmo playing.

* Wait, I've just remembered Hogan comes with a history of injuries and Kodjia has just had a big one. Still, there's always Samba...

You was calling for us to sign Forestieri before anyone had been sold, and I'm calling for a replacement for McCormack, if he's sold, and when I do as such you say that we shouldn't because we should be playing the youth.

I agree that we should use the youth if they're good enough, but I don't think that should predicate us from replacing McCormack. If we could find a goalscoring winger then maybe that would solve the problem.

Bruce isn't known for giving youth a chance anyway, we'll probably see Green and if we're luck a bit of Hepburn-Murphy next season, but doubt we'll see much of the others; it's Doyle-Hayes who's impressed me the most, I think he looks excellent, two footed as well, but likewise he probably won't get much of a chance.

Seeing peole getting excited on twitter over Forest supposedly bidding £1M for Richards, I'm not sure why though, it's come from one of the most unreliable twitter accounts going, who either just make stuff up, or copy other rumours.
