Re: The Steve Bruce thread
Five year contract thing, was just a rumour I think, based off Xia's gimme 5 tweet. Clemence the first to be announced as part of Bruce's backroom staff, but as been named as a coach rather than assistant, so will be interesting to see who that's going to be, read some good stuff about Warren Joyce recently, probably be either him or Agnew.
Just been announced on the official site that Steve Clarke, Kevin Bond and Massimo Battara have left the club.

WTF - ! Just saying on radio WM that Bruce said the length of the contract wasn't discussed ...ergo he doesn't have one - or has a major get clause if England come calling.....not impressed - how he is supposed to have authority or build stability if we don't know how long is here...

Stephen Clemence has been announced as 1st team coach and according to twitter Gary Walsh was at the presser today so he's sorting out the onion baggers

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
If the players are buzzing at the appointment of Bruce then maybe they will start to enjoy their football and put more effort in on match days.
I'm under the impression that the players, like most of us, now feel like we have an experienced manager at the helm. He's probably the first since MON/GH and seems capable of doing the job he's been hired for.
I doubt I'd be happy with this appointment if he was tasked with getting us into the Champions League, but I'm happy with him and his task of getting us to the premier league. If he can get us winning 1/2 - 2/3's of our games up until Christmas we'll be right back in contention for the play offs and that will bring back the much needed confidence for everyone involved with the Club, before pushing on with the 2nd half of the season.

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
I just want two things. 1) a hard working team that constantly wants the ball 2) a team that understands our game plan.
Under RDM I went mental of how we had a team that held loads of possession without having any fucking idea of what we should do with the ball. We looked clueless. It was like the coaching was based on having enough attacking players on the pitch and the goals would sort themselves out.

Joppe you drive me crazy with some of your comments but I have to say you are spot on with this one, passing back to our goalie from the opposition 18 yard box was our forte rather than putting in the killer cross. Hopefully Brucie will change all theat.

I'm feeling more optimistic now than with RDM. Has Bruce had decent backing before?

Dont think so. He was given some decent cash at Hull but nothing like what he will get with us. I will try and find some stats.FoxyAV wrote:I'm feeling more optimistic now than with RDM. Has Bruce had decent backing before?
Cannot seem to find how much cash he has had to spend but here are his performance stats at other clubs. Interesting.

Bruce keeps strategically positioning himself next to Wyness to make himself look even slimmer!

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
From September 15th-November 21st, 2015 he had a 13 game unbeaten run with Hull. Winning 9 and drawing 4.
6 wins on the bounce in that run.
January1, 2016 he went on another 6 game winning streak.
Very encouraging if you ask me.
Found his transfers and amount spent, below

Stats against other teams below

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
Steve Bruce has just had a meeting with all staff and players at BMH and everyone there was very impressed.
He stressed the need for everyone, from ground staff to players to directors to sort the mess out now. Teamwork and no individual attitude problems is what he expects.
All players are to speak to ground staff and all other members of staff on first name terms and have been told that if it was not for the hard work of the staff the players would not have a club to play for.
He also said that not one player is exempt from being dropped or being moved on if their attitude does not reach his expectations.
Bloody well done Brucey boy. UTV.

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
Quite honestly this is just basic stuff, why it should even have to be mentioned shows just how shitty the club has been allowed to become!
Hopefully this is the start of a new era!

Thats more like it.
No of this building an ethos junk.
Put a shift in - do your very best - see what happens !
First name terms - does that mean the players can't go 'Mornin Potato Head'

I prefer Albert Bartlett. It has the ring of an old-school manager.
