Match thread v Southampton Empty Match thread v Southampton

Post by smetro Tue Apr 19, 2016 2:19 pm

Probably the most depressing meaningless fixture in our history.

Sure we are down - I was hoping the new manager might a least be paraded onto the pitch - and provide hope of better times.

Theres a match on - we will loose it - it doesn't matter as we are relegated - even if we play some u21's and they sparkle it doesn't matter, because we won't recruit a manager to develop that talent !

Away win 0-3

(yes I will be going !)

3- 1 away win for me. Nothing left to bother for this season and the attitude of the players will not change.

I'm putting money on 0-4. I'm hoping Pelle gets a hat-trick as he's in my dreamteam!
In seriousness, it would be slightly uplifting to now see one or two of the fringe U21 lads get a run. Perhaps now they wouldn't be associated with getting the club relegated we could see a line up something like;

..........................................Bunn...........................................
Kinsella.............Okore............................Clark..............Cissokho
Green.................Veretout.................Gana....................Traore
...............................Gestede.............Ayew...........................

I don't think we'll see the U21s, they have a play-off semi against Swansea coming up.

Shame, as there's every likelihood we'll see Richardson, Lescott and co again.

It would be a bit unfair to give everyone else three points every time we play but not Southampton.

Well apoarently if, like okore, you point out you'd quite like a game to mr black you get told to fuck off and train with the kids, whilst Gabby gets 2 weeks paid holiday in Dubai... I couldn't come up with shit this funny any more, I think the kids are better off being kept as far away from our first team as possible sadly

It's brilliant really. Our best defender says "I think I deserve to play ahead of the tweet defender" and he's told to play with the youth team. Our "I think I'm good enough to play champions league" midfielder starts every game despite being barely good enough for league 1. Our unable to kick or save keeper gets the shirt every week. Our promising players are sent out on loan without a look in. Our two most creative players in Grealish and Adama are apparently fit but only one appears and even then only for a few minutes. Rudy puts himself about and can at least do something with the long ball that we resort to cut only gets 10 minutes to create our only chances in a game AND even worse Scott "forgot he was playing until I saw match of the day" Sinclair has started the last 2 games instead of him.

Still, at least we've got our new football board to save us .... oh yeah, Randy's got a mole to stop anything negative about him being said.

2-1 Villa?

Brilliant thread. Fucking bizarre. Can you imagine going back in time and having to prove you're from the future by showing this thread to a Villa fan watching John Carew head one in off an Ashley Young cross.

0-0

Because I think 'Bluenose-Black' is nearly there.
If he wants future 'cuckoo-caretaker-jobs' he has got to get something on this appalling CV he is creating with us.
I sincerely hope that Newcastle take him on as Asst Manager next season _ after Rafa goes home.

You know what, I was just thinking all of this. I can understand why the U21s are being kept separate - after all they have their own league to try to gain promotion from - but to select the players he is selecting? I just fail completely to understand what Black (and pretty much anyone else at the club) thinks the fans at matches are there for. We're relegated, so what. I'd apologise to Okore and play him in defence with Hutton, Lescott and Cissokho. Bunn in goal. Then the tricky bit. Sinclair on the left wing, Traore on right wing. Gueye and Veretout in the middle. Gestede and Ayew up front. Tell them to go out and do it for the fans. Try out some tricks. Crazy stuff like kicking the ball into space for the wingers/strikers/midfield to run into. Let their hair down. Give the PAYING fans something to enjoy. So what if we lose 0-6. But to kick Okore into the reserves and play Bacuna? Richards? Seriously? What the hell is the point? Are we going to set up to defend and try to hit them on the counter? What fun.

You could argue that Black has rewarded Okore's attitude by letting him play in a real team.

Black is braindead foxy, I love your team here but I would pop for clark over lescott now and I would tell Sinclair if he hasn't worked hard in first 15mins that i'd embarrass him by taking him off that early.

Lineup confirmed as 4-3-3 of the same useless cockwombles:

Guzan
Cissokho
Lescott
Richards
Hutton
Gana
Westwood
Sanchez
Sinclair
Bacuna
Ayew

Fuck me. The FB page is also posting a live stream of their warm up.

I'd take Clark any day of the week but he's apparently injured. Richardson too, which is presumably why he's not being rewarded with a starting place.

Sinclair is a winger, he excelled at it for Swansea. Get him running up and down the wing and tell him to bang in as many crosses as possible for Gestede.

Or, just give up. Who cares. Certainly not Black.

Ayew and Gueye are the only two I'd want to keep next season. Westwood as a squad player, Cissokho until Amavi recovers, maybe Hutton even though he's hopeless as our only attacking outlet down the right. Not a single one of the rest. In fact our subs bench today is where most of the talent is.

As extreme as it may sound, I'd drop the lot. Start afresh. Keeping any element of today's starting 11 will retain a bad taste. We need to hunker down and get a proper recovery plan together, maybe even put thoughts of "bouncing back" to one side, lay some new foundations and rebuild the house. We've got to re-earn our place in the top flight.
