Just gave him a Google. Apparently he's still got the ability but his Lyon career has been fucked by 20 injuries in 5 years and he's become so scared about his injuries that he outright refuses to play unless 100% which has pissed them off. 

So it sounds like he's still the quality player when fit, but not on the pitch enough to prove it.

Just read this from someone who seems to know the workings of the transfer window:

Whilst there's talk of "paperwork", everything gets done digitally through FIFA "TMS".

1. Clubs enter their details of the deal on the TMS system. Details from both parties (fees, instalments, etc) have to match.

2. Once the details are in and match up, the national association of the BUYING club (e.g., The FA) has to apply for an "International Transfer Certificate".

3. Once that application is in, the association of the SELLING club release the certificate.

4. If the application for the ITC (point 2) is in before midnight local time, then everything else can be done later.

Wet Spam have signed Moses on loan so that will put to bed them loaning Ade.

Therefore does Levy want to see one of his development squad turning up for training in a Rolls every day or will he help fund a loan to us?

Victor Moses has extended his contract at Chelsea and gone on loan to Wet Spam all on the same day. Chelsea now have 28 players out on loan. Surely this farce needs to be stopped. There has to be a maximum number of players, possibly not including kids you've developed yourself, that one club can loan out. They're just hoovering up talent and letting others do the work for them at no risk to themselves. The brainless FA have no intention of looking into this because it suits they're constant backing of the rich clubs.

Please note, I said "rich" not BIG clubs.

It looks bad on Chelsea but take Barca - they use Barca B because it's in the proper league so don't need to loan out, add their 3 loans out to their 26 Masia team and it looks different

I don't get the Dwight Gayle thing at all. Yes he's quick...but if he was the proven goalscorer we need....then he would be starting every game for Palace. Fact!

Also, he would be costing somebody an awful lot more than £10m. Fact!

In my view he is no better than what we have bought in already. If we do sign a striker today, I hope it's somebody further up the ladder than Dwight Gayle personally.

I rate Gayle, think he'd be good for us. Get Berba in with him on a free and we will have some great options - Gayle would work well with Troare etc, Gestede gives us options in the air, Berba still has a touch of class about him and could do a job in the last 15-20mins of matches. 

£8m for Gayle, £1m for Lescott, Berba on a free.

He's a 1 in 4 striker. We have enough of those already in my opinion mate....ie. not 20 goals a season.

We need a striker that can get us 20 goals in the league. You don't get them for £8m-£10m....Charlie Austin is worth the risk in my opinion. Somebody will pay the £15m for him today....can't believe nobody has yet. He must be asking for stupid money in terms of wages.

Austin has turned up for training as usual this morning. If he stays at QPR then I think that says something is seriously up behind the scenes with him

Has to be wages mate...unless he's waiting fore Barca to knock his door!

Gayle has been Palace's top scorer for the last 2 seasons, he hasn't started too many games because they have been playing Chamakh up front.
Palace needed someone taller as a target for Bolasie and Zaha and with Puncheon playing a similar role his starts were limited.
Gayle is similar to Gabby with pace but is able to finish, the 3 1 on 1's with the keeper that Gabby fluffed so far this season Gayle woupd have put them away.
We wouldn't need to change our style, he will support Rudy for the knock downs and his pace will support our wingers.
His stats show he has more strikes on target than any other player, something we have been lacking.
He came on and caused us problems last week and would be wasted going to the Championship.
