Might be quiet, lets hope its busy with a nice big surprise that blows us all away........

I'd be more then happy to see a couple go and I'm hoping we get Lescott, Yedlin, Austin and a keeper.

Lescott is supposed to be today & I have a sneaky feeling Adebeyor will still fill the vacant no10 shirt!

Ideally I would like a keeper as well, but I think we will have to make do with Guzan.

Climax or anti-climax? I've a feeling we'll do a sneaky bit of business that will be exciting. Adebeyor will be the fall-back position in case our real target fails to materialise.

Transfer window shuts at 6pm tomorrow (1st of September) for the UK.

European window closes tonight - though UK clubs can still buy from them until our deadline tomorrow.

I'd be disappointed if Villa didn't bring in a striker in the next 24hrs, as a minimum. I would have liked Wilson from Bournemouth but that won't happen now, that lad will be viewed as better than Austin by seasons end. The next best obtainable option for us has to be Austin, though i wouldn't want to pay much north of £12-13m for him. It might be that if Adebayor can get his head around leaving London then a seasons loan might serve Villa better. Maybe a foreign surprise might land on our doorstep? Lescott seems nailed on to join, not a bad short-mid term fix in the defence.
I think i read that thus far Villa this summer have a net spend of around £5m? If correct I'd hope there was about another £20-25m ready to go for the right player/players. I think we needed £25-30m spending before Benteke and Delph were sold.

Hilarious.  I still think he wants to join us and we want him as well, but we won't meet Levy's terms and are hoping for him to come to his senses tomorrow.  Levy's too much of a tight ass to waste another season of sky high wages on a player who isn't going to play.  He'll give into what we want to pay tomorrow, just to get Adebayor off the books.

We know he was at Bodymoor Heath because of the picture that was leaked of him and Paddy Reilly and we've reserved the number 10 shirt for him, even after we brought in Adama (who could arguably have claimed the shirt himself).

With the pace and work-rate we have in our team now there is no way he would fit in unless Tim plans to give him a set of rockets on his heels? Surely there is better out there? Rumours perhaps of Gayle? He's an improvement on Gabby for sure but again, not sure it's what we need.

If we're going for a short-term fix up front I'd rather Ade than Berba. 

Lescott is good sense for some cover/experience at the back regardless of if we start him or if he's on the bench. 

I'd take Gayle all day long. 

Just switched on BBC deadline day and noticed De Gea's move has fallen through. Didn't see that coming!!

Lescott is definite I'd say and IMO it's a good purchase. Yes he's not the fastest but we need experience in that back line as Clark proved the other day for the 2nd goal v Sunderland.

Gayle would be decent but how would you play him? Surely we'd need height/power up front with him (Gestede/Kozak) and with Gil, Grealish, Adama all looking fantastic so far I can't see how you'd fit them all in?

Bizarre that they never got the paperwork through on time, when they have been on about signing him for 3 months!!!

Can almost guarantee this will still happen though. Real Madrid will call in a few 'favours'...

Their deadline has passed so they can't even loan I do believe. Same with our clubs in the UK.

They'll get him free next year though so it can't be all that bad!
