Crystal Palace v Aston Villa Saturday 22nd August 2015...3pm kick off.
A hard game for us on Saturday but one i think we can and will win.
2-1 Villa for me and no idea what side Sherwood will put out for this game.

Tough one this Narla mate....their pace scares me a little, although the end product is more important as we know ( )
I agree, we can win it...they are better away from home, where their pace can be best exploited. They lost over half of their home games last season.
I have no idea what team we will start with. None of us can predict it now can we? This is a good thing in my opinion.

1;1 for me - I think our defence is a different class to last year, but depressingly I still have to say where will our goals come from - I still think we're short of a crafty striker.
I thought we might have a crazy season where we score freely against teams but have to accept a couple of real hammerings - not so sure now (after only 2 games!!!) but it might be concede low/score low - hopefully when the team is settled and we get a number 10, it will be concede low/score FUCKING MILLIONS!!!!!

1-1 I can't see our defence being steamrollered at the minute. Loving the selection problems.
Guzan
Hutton. Richards. Clark. Amavi
Sinclair. Gana. Westwood Ayew
Grealish
Gestede
Had to drop Gabby - sure there'll be tears by some!
Gil not fit yet, bacuna not a right back, Vertout will be good but needs to be eased in ( like Traore).

Bacuna Richards Clark Amavi

Christmas Tree for me, with Adama and Gil given license to fuk them up bad.
0-2 ..... Rudy and Veretout to score, the latter with a back heel assist from Adama.

I'd have the same players as you 4Bet except I don't think Gil is fit so Grealish, but Traore and Jack out wider to either put balls into Gestede or cut inside to have a dig themselves
With Gueye and Westy sitting deeper telling Vertout to get further forward and influence things more

Re: Crystal Palace v Aston Villa Saturday 22nd August 2015...3pm kick off.
After listening to Sherwood on AVTV just now, it's clear we won't be seeing Traore just yet. Very short of fitness according to Sherwood, hence the run out for the U21s the other night.
We may possibly see him for part of the Notts County match, that would be an ideal introduction to first team football, but I can't see him in the prem for a few weeks yet.
By the sounds of it Grealish is fit to start, and I expect the same side that played Utd to start at palace, with Grealish in for Gabby the only change.

It's a better place to be this season that's for sure VFT2ViewFromT2 wrote:Tough one this Narla mate....their pace scares me a little, although the end product is more important as we know ( )

Re: Crystal Palace v Aston Villa Saturday 22nd August 2015...3pm kick off.
Our defence did a good job against ManU and their goal was a lucky deflection, so I'm going to stick my neck out and say we keep the back seven for the sake of stability:
Guzan
Bacuna - Richards - Clark - Amavi
Westwood - Gueye
The rest is entirely up to the boss. If Traore isn't fit then why not start Vertout, Grealish, Ayew and Gestede up front, or even Sinclair alongside Gestede. Grealish looked good in the U21 match and Sinclair isn't a bad choice, I'd have kept him on instead of subbing him last week and he showed some promise when he did have the ball. If no one new is fit enough then Sinclair, Gabby and Veretout can start again but who that extra player is I can't say. I don't think Westwood and Sanchez can play at the same time. I don't think we can get away with a 3-5-2 without Okore (Baker and Clark are both too left footed and I'm not sure I'd want Baker on the left and Clark in the middle).
So I'll stick with the back seven and will wait and see!

i'm in agreement with above back 7...
then front 4 of:
Traore---Grealish---Sinclair
---------Gestede---------
I think Villa escape with 3 points. 2-1

Most importantly Palace will be just as unsure about what our team will be - makes a change.

To be honest Dan, this was a bit of a dreamteam hope. I doubt very much if he would start any of the front 3, except maybe Gestede.
He will I think be conservative until they all match fit and have had time together in training, seen endless training video's and some cameo 1st team run outs. He will prob stick with Sinclair and Gabby and one of ninja's.......prob Jack.
I think the Mids and defs select themselves at moment, they are pretty solid, so I'd love to see us have a gamble up front. Wish he had a right footed amavi.

Only midfielder I could see justified in changing would be Vertout but I think we need to stick with the lad and keep playing him

Agree, I think he will be a real gem in the long run. I'd encourage him to take FK's and corners, get an assist or maybe a goal, get that confidence up.

I'm hoping Sherwood is being a bit of a sneaky bastard with his comments about Traore.
But if he isn't fully fit (why the fuck wouldn't he be??) then throw him on for a half to run at the palace defence and just when they're good and knackred and considering sitting back a bit, put Gil on to exploit the space.

Definately being sneaky bastard mate. He is fit and will be unleashed this weekend for sure. winkwink.Trotters wrote:I'm hoping Sherwood is being a bit of a sneaky bastard with his comments about Traore.

I can see Grealish starting, Traore coming on at halftime, and Gil even making an appearance, if we need another goal. Tim is a sneaky fuck. "Yeah... If I do bring one more player in, he's going to be an English lad..." Two days later, we sign Adama...

Start with Jack, Gil and Traore on the bench. End with all 3 on the pitch.
Could see it happening.

End up with all 3 on the pitch cuz we need to rescue the game??
Would rather them start and then take them off for a rest at 5-0 up :)

Nah, end up with them all on the pitch as we are 2-1 up and want to keep their midfield and defenders busy!

It'll be interesting to see how many squeaky-bum games we have this year compared to last season. I swear the last ten minutes of some of those games have aged me terribly.

I think Gil came off in second half for U21 with a tight groin so it maybe too soon for him on Saturday? I can see Grealish and Traore on the bench. Hopefully Gestede in for Gabby?
