So hows it going to pan out tonight?
Aston Villa v Crystal Palace 12th Jan 2016 19:45
Has it got this bad? Two hours before kickoff and we don't even have a match thread?
OK, I'll do it. I think we'll hand out a thrashing by playing total football.

I think we'll lose quite badly say 1-3 or 1-4. I base this on the fact that a reliant robin car, no matter how well you drive it, will not do a ton!!

Really don't care. I don't identify myself with a single player on this team. I'd rather we played a bunch of academy players

Bunn, Bacuna, Okore, Lescott, Cissokho, Gana, Westwood, Veretout, Gil, Ayew, Kozak...interesting!! Thinking a narrow 4-4-2 diamond with Gil behind a front two, or Gil and Ayew wide either side of Kozak??

I still reckon our best goalie is on loan, but it's a bold decision leaving Guzan and Richards on the bench. On the other hand, if he's not injured, Richards should be playing at RB. Fine, Bacuna can do it but Richards is significantly better (and scores goals).
I don't really know what to think, I'm very happy to see Kozak and Ayew start, has Garde finally noticed Gestede isn't scoring?
The only way I can see it working is a 4-3-1-2 with Westwood between Gueye and Veretout, then Gil and then Ayew and Kozak.
At least it's different and bearing in mind the players we have to choose from I'd probably only change Bacuna for Richards. One failing we keep on repeating is weakening our central defence by making the two players have to cover the RB and LB positions as well as their own. Cissokho is going to make Lescott and Clark play better, I can't see Bacuna doing anything to help Okore.

We've got two goalscorers on the pitch. Two. Palace defence won't know what's hit them now!

See that line up? Total football, I tells ya!
On a serious note, I hope to fuck Kozak puts in a good shift and gets the ball in the net. He deserves his chance and I hope he takes it for both him and us.

Considering Richards limped off at the weekend, he's probably on the bench for a little extra recovery time!
Another "bold" line-up - throw in Remi's comments about the board & it looks suspiciously like he's finally bedded himself in. Good stuff.

For some bizarre reason I'm actually watching this.
Two things.
1) Compared to Gestede Libor is as mobile as a mutalisk. Different worlds.
2) I'd consider partnering Okore with Clark. They've proven a good partnership. I don't rate Lescott anymore than I rate Clark.

Imagine if we had a box midfielder. We NEVER have anyone getting to rebounds.

The boys definitely picked up the game. Just need more bodies in the box

All huff and puff, not enough numbers in the box, build up play really slow when it needs a quicker pass!

God I miss Ian Taylor and Jimmy Milner for that matter.

Gana has been better this half than most of his season, but he is utter dead weight in the midfield. He's supposed to be a bit physical and break play up, but he he's so weak it's ridiculous. Don't get me started on Gil. I'd honestly get Grealish on. Just noticed he isn't on the bench. Oh well, play better Gil.

Kick towards the north, change our luck.
To be fair it's all good but you can tell the confidence is severely lacking around the box
