If after the three poor performances so far this season Tim cannot see Gabby needs replacing in the squad then I will start to worry. We need a new striker and we need one now.

Re: Gabby Agbonlahor
In the last three seasons we didn't really have the team around Benteke, this season we have but no Benteke. With the exception of Gabby, Sinclair is our only attacking player to have a full pre-season, so Gil, Traore and Grealish are going to take a couple more weeks to get up to fitness. Traore played 25 minutes and immediately contributed more than Gabby has in 270 minutes. Grealish has already made a case for a permanent starting place, I don't see how Sherwood can justify starting Gabby again. Save him for cup matches and make it very clear that's all he's getting unless he plays well enough in those to earn starts in the league.

Re: Gabby Agbonlahor
It's been spoken about on twitter but if Adebayor does not want to come then we should try and push forward a loan move for Remy, with arrival of Pedro and Falcao and maybe more Chelsea would be willing to let him leave, french speaking hehe and would score.

Well if TS has read any papers this week he will be well aware off what the fans think, if not I hope Baker or Clark can have some influence in tomorrows training session. Gabby starting Saturday will be like starting with 10 men again.

I'm picturing a Road Warriors / Legion Of Doom style Doomsday Device scenario.
"Bah Gawd, they damned near broke him in haff!"

Gabby has scored 5 goals in his last 5 PL games against Sunderland. Is this the one game in 19 that he should be picked for?

I'd pick him for the derby matches coming up other then that I think he should be benched.

Nope. Dropping him is a risk I'd be willing to take as the risk of wasting a place in the starting XI is greater in my opinion.
Consider that Wayne Rooney has put more past us than any other club he has played against but was dogshit awful against us a couple of weeks ago - in April when he scored his 13th against us, he was on a run of form scoring 6 goals in 8 appearances. Gabby is in no such form to suggest he would even get a touch of the ball if played.

Re: Gabby Agbonlahor
Moderately interesting article in BM about Gabby, perhaps a bit of clever man management from TS going on here, a medium/long term plan to faze Gabby out without the humiliation of being dropped and sold fast............
The transition continues and my guess is were getting the squad ready for a marque signing, but not yet, next summer, to push on from finishing 9th this year then we'll see Gabby leave and our 25 goal a season superstar comes in.

Re: Gabby Agbonlahor
I'd really love for a journo to interview him and ask:
"So, Gabby....the manager has stated that he values you as one of his lieutenants. Says you've a role to play with the new lads and, having been around the club for many years, he obviously feels you're an ambassador for Aston Villa and still thinks you've a lot to offer. My question is, can you spell "lieutenant"?

It's not anger. It's taking the piss. And it's got not to do with him being in chronically shit form either....it's just that he's a bit fick.
Bless. I'd swap my brain and my bank account for his though! :)

Taking the piss is perfectly acceptable amongst a group of friends believe me I am one of the best but taking the piss out of a person who presumably you do not know is not.

Re: Gabby Agbonlahor
Gabby is stupid. Very stupid.
But he's always been this thick so that doesn't relate to his painfully shite form of the last half a decade.

Nah. If I feel like taking the piss out of a multi-millionaire, borderline retarded, sub-premier standard footballer who has acquired his millions from us, I will thanks. I'll also do it as often and as viciously as I feel like.
In those circumstances, a laugh at his expense is the least I deserve and in the unlikely event of someone reading the mockery to him he can console himself by getting someone to count his money for him and tell him how many Dime bars he can afford to buy.

It's about time we laid off gabby. He is a villa player who has gone through a bad patch. Let's not bring intelligence into it he has skills and gets well paid for it like plumbers sparkies ect. I am sure people slag him off for the fun of it. Constantly abuse will not help his game

Re: Gabby Agbonlahor
Why has nobody ever put in a bid for Gabby?
Because he is trouble and it is well known in the football world.
