We've been linked with a couple of 'hot prospects' in Europe, I'd maybe like us to go for that type of player as well as Austin - a bit of burden sharing could be pretty helpful in that area I feel! Certainly I think it's a big ask for whoever replaces Benteke to take on the kind of burden that Benteke carries at times. He's going to be quite hard to directly replace so I guess I'd like us to see go for a couple of strikers. With Weimann gone, I'd say we need another striker anyway even if Benteke stayed, as unlikely as that feels.

I must be alone in not minding Adebayor on loan. If CB goes and we can get a perm replacement AND Adebayor (the one that TS got playing that is) then I'm all for it.

I guess he likes Pardew. I will say, it's a lot of money for someone of that age. But at the same time I wouldn't have complained if we'd got him.

I get your anger but I'll just ask you one question. If you were a young family man with a wife and two children would you turn down a multi million signing on fee and 24 million pounds guaranteed over the next four years?

With all due respect I think Delph could live quite comfortably on want he's earning at Villa. Typical greedy footballer...

If Delph goes then you can bet Benteke will be straight out of the door. We've already lost our other loaned midfield dynamo Cleverley, so we will be in a spot of trouble lads.

We may sigh Gueye but he won't fill the gaping hole in our team.

Where will the spine of the team be?

Guzan was shafted by Sherwood at the end of last season to make a point about being the man. So .... no first choice keeper, no quality experienced first choice centre back as Vlaar is no longer a Villa player, no Delph, no Cleverly, no 20 goals plus a season striker with Benteke almost certain to leave.

I get that, but he already has a multi million dollar contract. Hell, he's had one since he was 18 years old, when we signed him. Then he was crooked for 3 years.. he's played what? 18 months of good footy and he's off?
