Marching on or the end of the road?
Re: FA Cup semi-final v Liverpool
I think the one thing that goes in our favour IS the fact that it's stress free. But for Liverpool, that's really not the case at all. Their entire season rests on the FA Cup (unless Man City balls things up)

In fact, the ideal scenario is we ruin their season on Sunday, but then revive it by doing them a favour and beating Citeh in our next league game! If they can return the favour by beating Albion, Hull and QPR in their next 3 games, well that would be just spiffy.

Perfect scenario haha!!
I have a sneaky feeling we might surprise a few people. That massive Wembley pitch and our lightning break aways could prove the difference. I'd love to see that team Kimbo showed earlier if the people we think are out...are. Gabby and Clark are both big losses, didn't think I'd be saying that about Gabby a few weeks back or Clark ever (Hasn't he been magnificent?) I was next to him at Sainsbury's today at the self service checkouts, he was walking fine, so clearly not some that will keep him out long, shame if he misses it, been a real asset this season.
I'm going for us to win 2-1 Come on you Lions

Re: FA Cup semi-final v Liverpool
Heads up.......Team training today for FA Cup semi was as follows
Given
Hutton
Vlaar
Clarke
Richardson
Delph
Cleverly
Bacuna
Grealish
Benteke
Agbonglahor.
Not saying this is the team that will start but this is the team that seems to be favored by Sherwood.
I will keep updates coming. UTV.

Re: FA Cup semi-final v Liverpool
Looks more like a flat 4 in midfield as opposed to the diamond if that's the case. Makes sense really as we've been dodgy defending the wings in the last 2 games so giving the full backs some help is ideal!
Having said that if we manage to get Benteke and Agbonlahor involved up top they could have a field day unless the Liverpool defence has the game of their lives!!

Sounds like a 4-3-3? Is Westwood still injured?

Re: FA Cup semi-final v Liverpool
That could easily still be a 442 diamond. I can see Bacuna on the right of the diamond, Grealish on the tip. Just a question of either TC or FD at the base. I'd guess Cleverly at the base.
Still a very attacking side. I like it.

Tell you what, as this week goes on I'm getting well up for this match. I know Liverpool will probably win and are favourites but sod it, I wasn't expecting a trip to Wembley 6 months ago so I'm going to just enjoy it as a one off match and hope for a win

Liverpool play 3 at the back , we should go 442 wide !

Great to be feeling a sense of pride again as a villa fan and to feel a connection with a manager and set of players that share our passion and desire to win. Regardless of the outcome on Sunday, we know that the Villa boys are going to give it a right good go. We will attack Liverpool and try to create chances to score. Can't wait to hear our great supporters sing their hearts out watching one of the most distinguished teams in world football on a stage that is suitably fitting. COMMMMMMMMON YOU VILLA!!

Re: FA Cup semi-final v Liverpool
I've just heard that the team are staying at the North Finchley YMCA, which is really handy as there's an astro turf pitch just round the corner. It's also next to a chippy and opposite ALDI's, with a Wetherspoon's just up the road. I bet Liverpool haven't got anything like it!NARLA24 wrote:Players off today. Re: FA Cup semi-final v Liverpool
I think we get a bit of a sneak preview as to just how far the team has really come on Sunday.. None of the negative pressure of recent weeks though am not so sure that's a good thing... didn't TS state he thought we played better under pressure?
So i'm kinda hoping we don't see a glut of lazy half arsed performances due to lack of pressure.
I do worry that, if we win, a cup final may be a distraction though so not really fussed either way which is kinda an odd feeling before an FA cup semi final
It's a bit like seeing a gorgeous naked lady and not being able to get turned on

Ohh err nice analogy though . Spot on
Mmmmmmm naked ladies
I cannot wait until Sunday, Big breakfast, a couple of pints lunch time and the long walk up Wembley way. Brilliant. Slow walk back to the hotel after we have won should do this every week end.

I'm standing him in the naughty corner until he learns how to spell Villain! (Villan) not Villian!
