Who's going to win this six pointer?
Aston Villa v QPR Tuesday 7th April 7.45pm.
This match will have a huge impact on our season.
After what I saw yesterday at Old Trafford I'm not confident. Our key players looked really ordinary, and the desire that I expected was lacking. Losing is unthinkable, but it could well happen.
What's it going to be guys? A rampant Villa .... A hard working Villa .... A wobbly Villa .... A resigned Villa?

I think we're quite capable of being all 4 of those Villa's in a 90-minute period unfortunately

Rampant probably not, hard working most likely and wobbly most definitely!! But I think we will get it done!

I'm finding it difficult to vote at the moment. I haven't got a clue which Villa will turn up.

It comes down to another Sunderland night a few seasons ago hopefully we'll have the same result under the floodlights at VP and we need a performance!

We need a win but unless we are more ruthless ans fully committed we may not get all three points

After watching our relegation rivals this weekend, Villa are clearly bottom of the league when it comes to leaders on the pitch. We seem to have a bunch of meek followers, rather than the bunch of "up for it and in your face" players that other equally poor teams seem to have.
The crowd can make a difference on Tuesday night. They have to because I don't think we can rely on the players to get the job done.

Villa win. Benteke will prove the difference and QPR's defence is leaky as fuck. 3-1 with Tekkers bagging a couple.

Tim needs to get the drive and the will to win, like what we had against west brom. Home games must wins with the fans behind the team it can be done.

I'm nervous, but hopeful. If Villa Park is rocking like it was against the Baggies we should win, if Villa Park is showing sign of disquiet we could be in the cack. Stop Austin scoring and we win.

Will be a very tough game especially with them having their tails up, i don't feel at all confident in our lot sadly mainly because of the constantly unsettled back four and the team being littered with players who can't be fully match fit. Hate to say it but i can see a turgid 1-2 loss here...
If that is the case we need points against the like of Spurs (a) West Ham (h) Everton (h)..I don't fancy a last day shoot out with Burnley either as that's just a lottery.
Concerning times..

Four cup finals against QPR, Everton, West Ham and Burnley. I give us no chance in our three remaining away games versus Man City, Spurs and Southampton so we have to get something out of all our home fixtures, and the fans have got to pick the team up and throw them at the opposition. Forget Wembley .... these four games each mean much more than winning the FA Cup!
It starts tomorrow night.

Slightly off topic but I actually think we might get something at Man City. They are quite capable of being really, really shit on any given day.villabromsgrove wrote:Four cup finals against QPR, Everton, West Ham and Burnley. Bottom line is this is still in our hands, so we need to keep it that way and we'll be fine; if we go down then we deserve to.

Think a cock a hoop QPR will be too much for us. I think the sub mediocrity of our squad is beginning to tell. Got a bad feeling about all this.

Re: Aston Villa v QPR Tuesday 7th April 7.45pm.
The injury list is hurting us, badly. Without Sinclair, Westwood, Cleverley, Hutton etc we are being decimated at the wrong time of the season. It's little wonder we are struggling when our better players (that are not that great when compared to the Utd team on Saturday) are missing for sustained periods of time, our 2nd picks just aren't good enough. That's the reality of the last few years transfer policy. As it stands today I think we'll struggle against a qpr team with Barton and Sandro in their midfield, Sanchez is simply not getting into games for us. I think a change in formation could be needed given the injuries, 3-5-2 or a 4-5-1. Guzan, Lowton, Bacuna, Vlaar, Okore, Clarke, Delph, Sanchez, Nzogbia, Benteke, Agbonlahor. Or, Guzan, Lowton, Bacuna, Okore, Clarke, Delph, Sanchez, Nzogbia, Gil, Agbonlahor, Benteke in a 4-5-1. I favour 3-5-2 given the players available, you can guarantee qpr have Zamora as the target man with Austin loitering around him and that will be their tactic. Oh, and please just play Gil over Weimann if it's goals and free kicks we are after.

We really need to win this game so I reckon 2-1 Villa.

At the risk of sounding optimistic, a draw is a better result for us than it is for them. I guess it is a must-win, but the optimistic view might be that it's more must-not-lose.

We have to win tomorrow night. If we do I still don't see us finishing with more than 36 points this season and it could easily be as low as 34 points. I would love to think that our survival will rest on our own efforts, but I'm now convinced we will have to pray that three other teams stuff it up worse than we do!
I've been on the look out for Villa cojones, and they're hard to spot at the moment.

Re: Aston Villa v QPR Tuesday 7th April 7.45pm.
It's not just us having the bottle, I am concerned that our manager is extremely limited tactically - I'm not giving up on Sherwood and I'm sure some Spurs fans liked him, but there has to be a reason for that 'Tactics Tim' jibe, and it's not like I can't see certain things myself already. My biggest fear about tomorrow night is Ramsey outwitting him.villabromsgrove wrote:We have to win tomorrow night. But then Sherwood knows Ramsey too, so maybe it will work in our favour
