I wasn't angry during his first 'leaving' a few week ago. He is seeking glory, more money, etc. However... he turn around and proclaimed his loyalty to AVFC and pride in the captains armband.

To NOW leave after coming back to Villa only a week ago... that shows the utmost disrespect and what a complete slag he really is. My guess is he will now be the most hated player in Villa history.
Frankly, i'm ok with the hate- he is now dead to me as well. I do hope he rots on the Citeh bench and loses his England spot from lack of playing time.

The only light in this tunnel is I have faith in TS to get in reinforcements. We have been linked with high quality young players for the past several weeks. I'm confident that we will replace and push on!

But on a side note, remember Southampton last season? Look at how their squad was decimated in the summer and what happened during the season. I agree we've not got the quality that they obviously have in their academy or scouting network, but I'm a Villa fan until I die and I have to have blind faith that the same could happen to us.

Stranger things have happened, we just need the replacements to step up quick like Mane, Pelle and the like did for them.

I'd rather us go into the season trying to emulate them than go into it pessimistic.

I think we should take the opportunity to look back at Delph's Villa career since 2009 and thank him for all three goals. That's as many goals as Dunne scored against Villa while playing for Villa. I used to think he was a good captain but obviously don't anymore. I wish him luck at ManC although I'm still not entirely sure why they signed him. Still, on the plus side Gueye seems to be a good signing and has better stats than Delph so hopefully Sherwood has replaced one guaranteed starter with a better player. Works for me!

I could understand if he went last week, but to say what he said & then leave anyway, he will go down as the biggest twat in our modern history!

Take a moment to think of all those kids that would of got the new shirt with his name on after his statement last week saying he was staying. Think of all the family's that saved for that shirt and won't be able to afford another.

Once Benteke goes early next week, we'd have lost our entire spine of the team. The same spine that nearly saw us relegated the last few years. Time to move on and get better. The saints comparison is a good one and if we can unearth a few gems and spend the money as wisely as them we will be ok.

I agree. Last week would have been fine for for me. To do it this way I do think the takeover is off. My respect of Delph fell from 100% to 0 after this move. As our captain he's made us look like absolute mugs. Sad day for Villa.
