Some of my mates are Arsenal fans and they think it's f*cking hilarious. I wonder who else will come in? Hoolahan? Ulises De La Cruz to solve our right back dilemma? JLloyd Samuel for left back?
All well and good, but when your owner has publicly stated he has lost interest and wants out asap, there is no chance of us signing lescott with the wages he will want, I think we all need to just get used to this as I think this won't be the 1st or last freebie this summer, again our manager is left to rummage through the trash to build a squad, maybe the fans will get of his back a little and direct there anger at randy and his little gimp fuckner.

Re: Philippe Senderos
Thanks for confirming Eastie, as I said last night, he's a solid player who I'd rather have as back-up than Nathan Baker who I would try to flog. We have lacked experience so this is another experienced-head in the dressing room too.

Indeed, he's one of ours now so he gets my support

Re: Philippe Senderos
I wouldn't call Senderos solid exactly, half the time he looks like he doesn't know where he is and he's arguably prone to even more lapses in concentration than our current crop of star defenders. I will support him while he is at Villa but the further we get into the summer the more we're looking like certs to go down. Senderos, Roy Keane...whatever next.

Re: Philippe Senderos
Couple of people saying we have signed the wrong Fulham player and we should have got hangelaand, id agree if it was 2009, ask Fulham fans about hangelaand this season, past his best and has gone downhill the last 18months, id be surprised if hangelaand is still in the prem next year (outside of signing for qpr, Burnley or Leicester), the logic of senderos being shit in a Fulham side that shipped 60+ goals, he only played in the first half the season, hangelaand played all season
lescott - £65k a week for a 31 (nearly 32) year old who will demand a big signing on fee and long contract, let some other mugs be his last payday.
senderos brings us experience we lack in the absence of vlaar, if we can sort out a left back we should be strong(er) at the back next season

Philippe Senderos has revealed how a stint playing alongside one of world football's greatest ever defenders helped him raise his game.
Senderos got the chance to work at close quarters with Paolo Maldini during the final season of the Milan legend's illustrious career.
And Villa's new signing - who spent the 2008-09 campaign on loan with the Rossoneri - was hugely inspired by the five-time European Cup winner.
In particular, Maldini's dedication and focus outside of regular training sessions gave Senderos food for thought.
"I was massively inspired by him, seeing him day in, day out," said the 29-year-old.
"He was the first in for training and last out. He really showed me how to work.
"The training you do out there with the team is not enough.
"You have to be constantly training and you need to be focused for the whole day.
"He definitely taught me a lot about what to do outside of normal training."
Senderos recalls Maldini was still setting the standard on the training fields of Milan even at the age of 40.
"You would occasionally come into training feeling a bit tired or see other players feeling tired, then you'd see this guy at 40-years-old with the same hunger and passion that he probably had at 16," he said.
"It is amazing to see and you learn a lot seeing these things.
"Even at 40 I don't think he lost much pace. He could have carried on a couple more years.
"I tried to learn and watch him in training more than anything.
"Being around this type of player, you feel the energy and the respect everyone has for him."

Philipe Senderos
Early days I know but this is looking a great signing. Love his passion and attitude. A leader on the pitch and loves a win as much as the fans. Hope he can keep it going.

Re: Philippe Senderos
Was very worried that he was going to be Vlaar's replacement when he signed this summer and our back line would completely unravel. I couldn't be more wrong about the guy. My Arse supporting buddy was very upset when they sold him years back, and said he would surprise me when I was complaining about the fact that we signed him. Looks like a no nonsense, old fashioned central defender. It helps to have another vocal leader on the pitch, as well. Did a fantastic job marshaling the defense today, and even Baker gave him a lot of credit in his MoM interview. Signing of the summer, so far.

Re: Philippe Senderos
Senderos has had the fortune to come into a defence that is fit for purpose, something that has not been the case for the last 2 years at least.
He has also had the good fortune to come into a defence that has 2 fullbacks that actually play as fullbacks first and foremost. He has added to that resilience by his own performances which has shocked most people with how good they have been, long may it continue.

Re: Philippe Senderos
I just love his attitude - leader on the pitch. You can see him motivating and positioning those around him. It means a lot to him to win. While not berating him when we signed him, I did feel slightly underwhelmed. I am eating humble pie - Senderos you are a mountain at the minute. I hope it continues all season.

Re: Philippe Senderos
Id like to hold my hands up and say sorry i ever slagged him off when we signed him. Couldn't believe we signed him and let WBA sign Villa fan lescott. But couldn't be more happier now. Been solid in every game, watched the Parma friendly and he was so loud. Seems like a great leader, and even for our corners, he seems to always get close to the ball, like Laursen did. Can see him getting a few goals for us this season.
