Re: HMRC Issue winding up order Against Villa
That the HMRC have issued a winding up order, and we've had to reach an agreement with them on how to pay it, rather than just paying it, and have had to bring in Trevor Birch an insolvency expert, tells you all you need to know... We really are in perilous financial difficulties, the media will exaggerate because it attracts fans of other clubs who want to rejoice in our hell... But there's no getting away from it the crisis that we're in is very real.
We desperately need a takeover.
We desperately need a takeover.

Re: HMRC Issue winding up order Against Villa
The club needs to explain what happened,, what is happening now and what happens in the future. There are 17,000 worried early bird season ticket holders that need reassurance that their hard earned cash hasn't been lost. Then there are thousands more fans worried about their beloved club. Time to man up Dr Xia?

Club statement.
Aston Villa Football Club can confirm that an agreement has been reached with HMRC and the club will continue to fulfil its obligations.
The club can also announce that there are no insolvency practitioners or administration advisors working with the club.
Owner and Chairman Dr Tony Xia would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank supporters during this difficult and unsettling time and reassure them plans are now being put in place to move the club forward.

Something going on on companies house, to do with 'removal of pre-emption rights', I haven't got a clue what that means but some are speculating that it could indicate new investment coming into the club, or it could be related to Wyness resigning... Apparently.
You can't actually see the document's yet... here's the companies house link.

It means taking away rights of owners....
it basically doesn't allow the existing owners of shares to have a right to buy new shares

Yes a lot of speculation that it's either a new investor or even the start of a takeover, but that could be wishful thinking. I guess we'll see in a few days time, will probably turn out to be nothing to get excited about.

Maybe its Xia blocking any future attempt by Wyness to buy the club.

Re: HMRC Issue winding up order Against Villa
HMRC shelved plans to issue legal proceedings so no winding up order. Liability was in the region of 2.4 million not 4 million or even 6 million claimed in the papers.
We all understand the mess we were in when we went down, but with a new board and owner we had great expectations of going straight back up. But it all went wrong with a new manager buying experience players with high wages, and long contracts, manager was sacked, another manager came in, more players in, it seems the board let the villa down plus the manager, and the owner , not enough control of the budget.
Our biggest fault is buying players on expensive salarys and long contracts , who just stay at home not even playing, look at the money we have waisted., we are now in the position of selling are good players, having to keep the players we cannot sell due to expensive contracts,
We need the board to change , Bruce needs to go , he cannot work with the young players, we might be lucky and our best coach can take over that position, plus I hope we could remove the dead wood, or get them playing ! That's a big ask.
I would like to see a villa man as manager, Mellberg, see Patrick Kluivert is looking to step up, from youth coach,.rant over, I will allways be a villa fan, it's a shame we are in this position.UTV

Mellberg would do well to stay away and I say that with fondness and admiration for the guy - a fan favourite sure, but for how long if the results aren't as desired? It's a difficult position to be put in and football fans are often a toxic breed.

avfctransfers1 who appears to have an inside track as to what's going on at the club, has said this...
New ‘ITK’ guru @thatcherlover is not Correct on many points he has claimed. Many items have yet even been decided, things are not as bad as first seemed, Club navigating through a tough period. Brighter times ahead

Now that Xia has stopped tweeting there's more people claiming to be 'ITK', couldn't really do that when he was active on twitter, as there was no point, as he told us mostly everything before the media got wind of it anyway.

TBF NARLA will be the first to admit that apart from having a mate at BMH who has provided info around anything that can be observed at the training ground, he's no better placed than the rest of us when it comes to ITK
My feeling is that we're not fucked, but we are close to being fucked. I would suggest Xia's lack of activity on twatter is because he's working flat out to try and stave off disaster, and because he's not there yet, what's worth putting on twatter if it's still not sorted?

Re: HMRC Issue winding up order Against Villa
I’m afraid the reality of business is just about to bite us, and bite us hard. Xia is a busted flush, he doesn’t have the money himself and he’s gambled every penny, and then some, of Villa’s money away. The club have at least £11m to find to pay bills in the next 10 days, they had to borrow to pay a £2m+ tax bill a couple of weeks ago...........just think about that for a moment and let it sink in. It’s fantasy of the highest order to think it’ll be alright, everything will be fine. It won’t. Xia is fucked or, more pertinently, Villa are. Nobody (a very rich Villa fan aside) is going to stump up the money that Xia wants when they could be picking over the best bits of a corpse in a matter of weeks. The can has merely been kicked down the road, a very short road.

Re: HMRC Issue winding up order Against Villa
We had to take out a loan to pay our bills last month, and nothing has happened in the meantime to suggest we'll find it any easier paying this month's. For me Xia's silence is very worrying, if what we're seeing in the media is exaggerated it wouldn't take much for him to dismiss it, even takeover talks wouldn't prevent him from doing so.
Administration is being talked about, I just hope that the club isn't asset stripped to prevent that from happening, I wouldn't have believed it just under a month ago, but I'm not sure what to believe now, fearing the worst at the moment.
As an aside Xia sold his stake in Recon Sport to 'Shenliyuan Investment Group' for ¥1.4b back in April, what that means for us I'm not sure, but seems strange to me.
