Villa v Norwich match thread
I don't believe this is on TV (therefore not on Mobdro?). Hopefully a Periscope link will be made available.
Win this and I think it'll instill a REAL sense of confidence in the team. Scratching out results against teams in the lower positions or teams that are struggling for form is one thing but Norwich should offer up a sterner test.
New manager bounce could come into play for them, they'll still have hopes of a Top 6 spot and they're more than capable of scoring - I think they have one of the higher averages in the league so I can't see it being a dull 0-0.
I Jedi is fit and we have our regular back 4 then I think we could really frustrate Norwich and can see us getting all 3pts.

I, obviously, want and think we'll get the 3pts from this one. I've got us at 100-1 for a playoff place, and every game we win and Sheffield Wednesday don't my cash out figure gets better!
I'll go for a 2-1 home win, Kodjia and Hourihane scoring.
P.s. Can you let Brucey know I've pulled a hammy and won't be available for selection this weekend

If I'm right a 0-0 draw would mean
Played 39
Won 13
Lost 13
Draw 13
Scored 39
Conceded 39
2-0 villa then I think!

Very tight game this, not sure we can shade it but if we do then a 1 nil win methinks

Team news seems to be that Grealish, Baker and Agbonlahor are back fit while Green is 50-50. Also I wonder if Taylor will play? And will Bruce stick with 442? Will Jedi start after playing for Australia in midweek? Gonna be interesting to see.
I'm hopeful of a positive result tbh. And if we do win and Sheff Wed slip up at Barnsley then we could potentially be just eight points from the play-off places which would really pile on the pressure.

Agbonlahor. Honestly, why?
We have options so I can't see Bruce risking Green if he's 50/50. Best leaving him until he's 100% fit.
And it'll be interesting to see which teams in the top 6 fold under the pressure. I still can't see us making the play-offs - and we'll be looking back ruefully at the results at the start of the year - but I've a feeling a run of results for us will change the complexion of those top places.

Hogan off as a precaution?
Norwich have a goal in them. Need to score again.

Solid enough win. sure Norwich can claim to have bossed the game - but eventually they ran out of ideas.
cocern that only Kjodia seems to know where the back of the net is - but hey ho !

Could you see Kodjia doing what Hogan did today laying the ball off into space for him to run onto in the same situation, taking 4 players out in the process? NOT A CHANCE he would have just kept on running till one of them robbed him and a chance would have gone, TEAMWORK always pays dividends in the end, the quicker he learns that the better our TEAM will be.

Re: Villa v Norwich match thread
Another solid win for the lads. We're really sending a message to the rest of the league and those who will be coming down that..WE ARE GOING FOR THE TITLE next year if we don't make it over line this year. Yes, we aren't exactly playing like Barca but when a team picks up that winning habit then they just find a way to get it done, regardless of how well they play.
It's just crazy what is happening because this seemed a million miles away when we contrived to lose at home to the likes of Barnsley and Ipswich. Just have to keep going now and see what transpires.

Solid win. Just a shame we have thrown so many points away this season. Looking forward to next season .

Re: Villa v Norwich match thread
Grinding out the wins so I'll not complain, even if we aren't playing attractively - or even well! If we had managed to do that over the last few years we wouldn't be in the shit situation we are in now.
We'd still be in the Prem, with us watching the games rather than listening to them like it's a BRMB '70s and '80s flashback.
Mathematically, we can still do it this year. I have not given up hope and I don't subscribe to the "It's a year too early for us" theory I've seen. That's loser talk and if I'm being charitable I'll put it down to folks using it as a coping mechanism to deal with the disappointment when we were down the bottom of the table.
A bit like a kid who has to stay at home when his mates are going out somewhere saying, "'S'okay, didn't want to go anyway." He really, really wants to go and feels like crying inside but nonchalantly brushes it off.

Re: Villa v Norwich match thread
I'd much rather we slogged it out another season in the Championship and made one or two tasty additions to the squad and have them all another year of playing together than see us get back into the PL and be messing around in the bottom six all season because as a team we just don't gel.
It's great having a decent striker again though, and it looks like he's playing with confidence. Just need to get Hourihane, Hogan and Lansbury scoring. And whoever ends up on left wing (Green please) doing as well as Adomah.

Kodjia is ace. Was our play a bit better than what it's been lately?
The playacting from Amavi makes me cringe though. Wish football could be a sport of working class men again. Utter embarrassing.

I agree, Joppe. It's not even a fine line between professionalism in drawing a foul and acting a pansy. I hate it.
