Norwich v Villa match thread
Thought I'd get this started as we are kicking off at 12.30 tomorrow - games are coming thick and fast now.
We go to Norwich off the back off a one sided win against Reading which should bolster the team's confidence. Contrast this with a Norwich team bereft of confidence, lacking in goals, one win in ten and a capitulation against QPR resulting in a 4-1 loss.
Whilst the Canaries will undoubtedly lift their game against us if we get an early goal we could run out easy winners.
Villa won 4-2 at villa park with a hourihane hat trick and I'd be very happy to see that happen again.
Could either be a massively frustrating 0-0 or if we win I think it will be by 2 clear goals.
Personally I think it will be 3-1 to Villa.

We should win against a team with nothing to play for, but I'm not confident. To be honest, I think Cardiff will beat Wolves tonight, which if happens will probably affect our performance tomorrow for the worse.

The last few times we have played very well at Carrow Road, in crunch situations, after Tuesday I think the boys will be up for it especially if he keeps Thor in midfield, Plenty of goals from us to boost our goal difference because I think it could be vital to us at the end of the season. UTV

'if'!
I love that we're so unsure what Bruce is going to do next that even after such a good performance (and goal) there's a chance Bruce might decide to drop him (and Grealish and Hourihane) and play Whelan, Jedi and Onomah in midfield.

There must be a reason why we are completely unable to retain the football for more than a couple of passes.

It was all about which "Villa" would turn up. So far, it's "Crap Villa".

I'm starting to wonder if they want promotion, everything riding on this game, but you wouldn't think it from watching the performance, pathetic yet again.

That's season over, Xia needs to do something not just about Bruce but those higher up at the club as well.

Playing like its a pre season friendly. No urgency, poor poor first half.

Playing like the club has accepted playoffs as the only option, no obvious need to break their necks for a ship that has apparently sailed.

The combination of ponderous backwards passing and hoofing clearances from Taylor and Elmo is really rather frustrating.

Re: Norwich v Villa match thread
Four points from QPR, Bolton, Hull, Reading and Norwich, when we had everything to play for, is pathetic beyond words, we needed to play against ten men to get three of those four points as well. So much for Bruce buying all these 'real men', to get us over the line.

People talking about whether they'd prefer to play either Cardiff or Fulham in the play-offs, they're both lightyears ahead of us, so it makes no difference. The best we can hope for is that we avoid either one in the semis, and the other team does us a favour and knocks them out.

Missing in action, again. Must be nearly time for the five up front and no midfield tactic that Bruce favours, when things get desperate.

It's not going to happen, but I genuinely believe now that our only chance of going up is sacking Bruce, and bringing in someone to give us some new manager bounce, going into the play-offs.

No chance we are getting promoted. None. What a fucking waste of a season.
Hope Dr Tony has prepared for 5 years in the championshit because that's what is coming.

Re: Norwich v Villa match thread
I think one of the things that angers me the most is the waste of a season with Bruce at the helm. I said this from the off, as did many others.
The other thing that makes me even madder is that when I look at our squad, I swear I could have managed us into auto promotion, but instead we have that dour depressing clueless sugarbag in charge.
Today changes nothing for me, I still think we have as good a chance as anyone else in the play offs and I don't think we'll drop out of the top 6, but feck me it's a season wasted isn't it.
We're so "meh" it's unbelievable, we're the One Show of the EFL, Aston Vanilla, bland second rate averageness.
Don't get me wrong if we had zero resources and hadn't come from the Prem I'd be happy with the playoffs, but with our set up and players, it isn't even where we are in the league that boils my piss, it's the lack of passion and adventure.
Boring negative potato headed clueless fuckwit.

Not even sure if Xia's that bothered, he's just letting Wyness run the show, which is where I think we've gone wrong since relegation.

When I was looking at a couple of Norwich forums before the game virtually none of their fans gave them a hope in hell. How shite do we have to be when even people partisan enough to bother posting on a forum don't even believe their team has a chance.

Ok, after 50 plus years of supporting this club through good and bad i'm officially done. SB has managed to kill any enjoyment have for the game. I don't want to watch or hear about them unless its that SB has been sacked. He has no clue and my weekends are to valuable to waste them on this shit.

Re: Norwich v Villa match thread
It was almost obvious this would happen as it's what this team does when presented with a chance of glory... BOTTLES IT!!
See
Sheff weds & QPR at home & the Sheff utd game when 2-0 up.
Then Bolton, Hull, Norwich away... Those are the games which have destroyed our season all of which were poor performances against teams we should be beating when we had a chance to pull clear or get back in the race for automatic.
Those are the games which the likes of Wolves, Cardiff & Fulham seldom lose and that's why we have failed in my view.
How on Earth you go from the slaughtering of Reading on Sat to such a limp, lifeless performance today is baffling. Looks like we have a bunch of players or manager who freezes when the big moments come around (The Wolves and Sha games were the exception of course maybe because they were derbies?)

Not a chance of Automatic now through no fault apart from our own which is the sad thing. We have failed because we didn't do our part not because the others did theirs and that's really poor for a club of this stature. No wonder the word "Prepared" was removed from the club badge as clearly we seldom are!!

Another shocking performance, Might be down to the comments he made, about him and the senior players not being at villa if they don't go up this season, for me it's down to his leadership and tactics, and substitutes he used in most of the games we have played this season.
Just hope the players come out fighting in the playoffs.UTV
