Chung Yong Lee being heavily linked. That is more like the surprise I guess. I doubt we'll get Hogan and Rhodes, that seems a bit mad.

Lets sign .......................................
...... everyone! (Hope we can integrate all the new signings quickly otherwise the slim chance of bouncing straight back up will be lost quite soon) Good business so far. No moans from me in hindsight, if any of them don't work out. I would done the same if I was bankrolling it all.The only unkown is the Icelander but I have positive feelings.

Absolutely hilarious that we are selling Westwood for the combined fee of Hourihane and Lansbury. More or less any way. I know I might be off with a million, couldn't find the fee for Hourihane.

5m for Westwood!!!!
That alone makes it the best window ever!!!!
At first thought how do we pay Burnley this 5m in installments but apparently Dyche fancies having the World Dodge Ball Champion in his side!!!Fucking Brilliant!!
As for Ayew, who cares! Petulant prick! He has had 18 months to live up to his hype and has never shown that he can consistently produce the goods? As I saw someone say about him Ayew is a scorer of great goals not a great goal scorer?
If these two sub standards can fund a real footballer then that may prove to be their greatest contribution to the Villa cause?

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
Deadline day is here... Who will we sign, who will leave, will we be happy at 11pm ( this is Villa so no matter what happens somebody will moan :-) )
Hoping for lots of movement on & off the pitch today with a few solid reinforcements & a goal machine plus some departures to boot... Oh & 3 points please.
Coffee ready, phone charged, lets do this

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
Most important thing to bag by midnight tonight is 3 points. Will Hogan play for Brentford? I'd have thought not given the potential sums involved for Brentford, and if Villa really are a potential destination for the player then you'd be even more inclined to think he'll be a non starter. I think the Hogan reporting might be Villa trying to leverage better terms for Rhodes. I also haven't ruled out Hernandez at Hull ending up at Villa. If Hull were willing to let snodgrass go then anyone there is clearly fair game. Hogan, Rhodes, Hernandez.............take your pick!!

Hernandez for me. Cannot see Rhodes to be honest.Dazzle wrote:Most important thing to bag by midnight tonight is 3 points. Will Hogan play for Brentford? 15 million for Hogan!!!!!! Really? Looks like Brentford are lining up Norwich striker so this could be a done deal.

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
Well already this has been the best January i can ever remember! Obviously the new signings have to bed in yet and some will likely hit whilst others miss but i'm liking who's come in on paper so to speak.
As for Ayew going i'm actually relieved as although he possesses skill on the ball he is non productive even at this level. The only regret would be that in his time here he has played with the worst midfield in living memory so it would have been interesting to see how he performed with the new boys .... We move on though!
As for Westwood leaving i agree it needed to happen. Could be functional on his day but that's about it.
Of the strikers linked i am liking what i'm reading about Hogan. To score that many for a team like Brentford says a lot. As for Benteke? Well he did seem to blow hot & cold for long periods i remember but boy when he was hot he was unplayable... think it's a nonsense story though personally and he won't be coming.

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
What sort of deal have we put on the table for Hogan as West Ham end interest?
Have we blown them out of the water or is there something more to it?
Surely West Ham, who have been trying to get Hogan for a long time would be favorites. A short trip across London or relocate to Brum ?

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
For some reason I've got a feeling Hogan won't happen, I think it might have intially started with the press hearing about this mystery big signing and putting two and two together.
I'd be equally happy with either him or Rhodes. Hogan probably has the better alround game, but Rhodes is a more proven goal scorer, and he's proved he can do it at different clubs.

Palace and West Brom also in talks. Bruce and the team travelled to Brentford yesterday, so, if this Hogan deal is true i would expect news very soon as i would think he has already met with Bruce and his team to talk through things.
Or, are we favorites just because we are playing Brentford tonight? Smoke and mirrors maybe?

According to Sullivan ( via Talksport ) Bilic didn't fancy him so they dropped their interest....
Can i be greedy & ask that we get Rhodes & Hogan and send McCormack packing.... These 2 lads are 26 & 24 so will have significant sell on values if we need to shift them so it's a win win situation in my mind !!

I suppose we could offer Brentford McCormack on loan until the summer, or beyond, and subsidise his wage for them as a bargaining chip?

Only difference I can see is that the two to come in apart from Taylor are virtually done deals (95 and 98%)

My best guesses
First 99.9% Bedeau lad from Bury
Second 99.9%+X Taylor from Swansea
The 2 0.01% were only back ups to Taylor so won't happen.
The -100% Ayew to Swansea
The -99.9% Westy to Burnley
The -50% -65% and -50% are 3 possibles out on loan (Kids more than likely?)
The 95% Left winger (Korean lad)
The 99% Hogan

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
Looks like three more almost nailed on. Happy fucking days!
Where's old Alf and his claim that Xia had no money to spend?
@4BetLite at first I thought De Kuip had added to the word filter then realised that you just really really really don't like Richards.
Love the countdown clock too. Cheers,@De Kuip.
A game with new players, final transfer day..... Does life get any better?

Just a theory, but has Xia's phone found it's way into Lescott's pocket?

He's Korean? I assumed Chinese. Cuz, you know...racist.
Tell me more about him? And I don't really give a fuck about other teams and had heard of none of our current team except Jedinackered before they signed for us. So tell me about Taylor and this Hogan lad, too.
