Bruce has confirmed Gestede in tals with PL club. says he has to many strikers and needs to bring in a midfielder. .....interesting could RHM be promoted to first team duties soon

With Kodjia going to the ANC and Gestede going, I think we will be very light of forwards that actually know where the back of the net is located!

RHM won't be considered at all until he signs that bloody contract!

This seems strange to me as he definitely makes a difference coming on as a sub as proved against Leeds.
We are definitely not scoring enough goals and goal difference may make all the difference in the end.
Bruce also implies we need to sell to improve our midfield which is contrary to the message the doctor is putting out.

However the time to judge is the end of January, hopefully it won't be too late!

Maybe there are better options than Gestede available to Bruce. Like you say, end of Jan will tell mate.

I have to assume there is a replacement in the bag should Gestede move early in the window. There has to be. After the Cardiff game we will be without Kodjia and Ayew, add Gestede to that and we're left with McCormack and Gabby. Not enough by a distance. I don't see Bruce rolling the dice with just McCormack and Gabby for a month, so someone has to be coming in. I'm still thinking it'll be Hernandez who is favoured. But but but..........CM is the area that has to be addressed 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

I really can't understand why for a minute we would be interested in Rhodes, as he is far to similar to what we already have?

As everybody says lets sort out the CM spots and go from there!

To be fair, from what I've seen and read of Rhodes he isn't much like what we already have at all. Rhodes has often been compared to Bent, as he (Rhodes) is basically a 'fox in the box' type player, scores goals but doesn't do much else.

When you look at some of our other strikers like Kodjia, Agbonlahor and Ayew, they all like to drift wide or come in from that position. And then there's McCormack but he likes to drop deep and link up play. The only player we've got similar to Rhodes at least positionally is Gestede, but obviously it looks like he might be leaving.

Hernandez would make more sense, but I imagine we're trying to be carefully with what we spend because of FFP.

Unless it was all actually down to Amavi refusing to go to China rather than us rejecting it? Can't see it personally just media BS as usual.

I can see Amavi wanting to go back, but even with Marseille's new riches I can't see them paying more than us. No way we would accept a ten million euro offer either.

Fact is that Amavi, even by a neutral PoV, is easily a £ 15 million player. Mostly because the new TV deal has inflated everything.

Derby have already denied an interest in Rhodes so it looks like we'd be free to sign him IF we are interested.

Sam Johnstone seems nailed on, on loan, hope we have an option to buy him at the end of the season.

Grimsby currently have another promising Manchester United goalkeeper on loan, name of Henderson!

What chance have these players of actually playing let alone making it at clubs like these?

Someone on Twitter who proved themselves to be very reliable over the summer seems to concur with Johnstone as a certainty incoming, as is Rhodes. Gollini, Gestede and Ayew all seemingly headed for the exit.

For my part, I would not be sorry to see Ayew go. I don't like anything about him. He seems a twat with permanent PMT, is thick as shit with zero football IQ and I don't believe he will ever change. If he wants to go and we can get an acceptable price for him I would happily seem him go.

Gollini I'm less happy to see go, he's young with lots of potential, I think. Unlike Ayew, I don't get the sense he won't respond to coaching and is likely to end up a very good player, IMO. Also, I get the impression that he is intelligent - his interviews on arrival certainly indicated this - unlike Ayew, who is dumb as a fucking rock. However, we don't know what Gollini feels about being here. Maybe he wants to go back to Italy.

Gestede I'd be happy to see stay for his impact sub abilities. However, that's all he's good for, unfortunately. I wouldn't question his attitude, he seems a good lad but he's pretty limited. If he's been told he's not going to be a starter here and has the option of a move to the PL then that's that, I suppose.

As for the incoming, Bruce has done a fine job thus far and I'm happy to eat my words about not wanting him. He's delivered and I now trust him to build his side this window as he sees fit. If he wants them, go for it. He has done more than enough to suggest he knows what he's doing. Hopefully he gets it right and we make a real charge down the home straight.

It's really gonna be interesting to see who actually leaves this month. Gestede has apparently travelled to Boro tonight to complete his medical so that seems all but done, Kozak is said to be off too, Ayew is being linked with moves to China and the premiership, Gollini maybe out too but is anyone gonna pay the 4m we paid for him? And On Twitter a website is claiming a Chinese club is after Richards so that would be great if true. I also think Tish may go out on loan aswell.

Could be a wild window lads . Right there you have potentially 20m pounds coming in and if our Tone puts in another 15m or so then Bruce could have a pretty big warchest to play with.

@Joppe84 don't upset all the hype, that is what the transfer windows are all about, a load of bullshit followed by a bit of porcelain!

TBF Nixon was right about the takeover happening. The one's I trust the most though are Neil Moxley and John Percy. If both of them break the same news then you know it's legit.
