Re: Reading Away Match Thread.
Just watched Cissoko giving away the penalty, he has absolutely no idea how to tackle, especially in those situations, from the moment he started moving towards the player you knew it was going to be a pen, total knobhead.

For me amavi has to play instead of him, he was good last year till the injury, he just needs game time, but isnt it refreshing to see a manager make attacking subs to try and win the game, under RDM he'd of tried to hold onto draw.

It was only radio commentary - but Amavi dropped a couple of clangers in the short time he was on. Really not sure about him defensively.

Cisssokho doesn't need to make the challenge for me. Baker is covering.
The fault for their goal should be shared equally with Hutton though, despite his having had a good game, according to the commentators.
He stands on the edge of the box and doesn't move when the penalty is taken.
Two Reading players get the jump on him and one of them, Kermogant, heads in the rebound unmarked.
Bruce should tear him a new one for that. Very unprofessional.

I still can't bring myself to pay the 3 quid in any more regularly than on the odd occasion. Real shame as I adored the old King Ed. Even the Swan is charging people in despite me having a members card.
Have recently taken to drinking in the JQ with my mate prematch and we Uber it to the ground. The uber costs less than for 2 of us to get into the Tavern!

Not only a win, but one away from home too! hopefully we can get another on the weekend and then the confidence will be flying for the blues game!
Did anyone see the game? how did we play? were Jedinak and Gardner any better?

OMG just arrived at work and can't believe my eyes. We actually won.
If we don't win any other games we HAVE to beat the Blouse - or we will never forgive Potatohead.

What, and not enjoy your 3 quid's worth of delicious pork baguette haha. Just easier for us as we park off Long Acre so pass the place on the way. Even with season tickets I think there's a charge at the Holte suite. TBH by the time I've travelled up from Devon, paid all the expenses etc. 3 quid pales into insignificance. It just works as there's usually about 6-8 of us and there's always enough room to get in.

Not sure if there was any proper tv coverage, although the goals have finally been uploaded onto Sky website. I'm still having nightmares about Cissokho's pen give away, just everything wrong - position, angle, pace, choice of leg for the tackle. Awful.
I think Gardner was okay from the commentary, Jedinak not mentioned so much, but that goal came right down the middle, which is our weak area. As long as SB keeps us playing the ball on the flanks, we'll be better, plus Reading tended (from what I could hear from the radio commentary) to attack down the flanks as well. If anyone tries to go at us down the middle, I think we might be more exposed, but hey, I'm not going there as I just want to savour the win!

Yeah if I was travelling that far I'd do the same tbf Think I jus miss the Ed really.
Watched the highlights. Neither keeper had loads to do. For their penalty Cissokho fucked up but they cut our defence open with a ball over the top. Not good that bit. Ayew did well to win out penalty though. And a lot of people have been praising GG it seems

Yep, that's me told! I was praying he'd prove me wrong and he did okay apparently, which is good as I want him to be the player he might have been. Just glad Westwood wasn't in the team, and if Hutton plays well, just the fact that he'd be keeping that arse Richards out would please me.
Right, it's been emotional, off for some shut eye - that NHS doesn't run itself you know haha

Re: Reading Away Match Thread.
Just watched the highlights on sky sports website and GG was involved in both the goals.
Golini also made a couple of good saves and was unlucky on the penalty as the defenders were just watching the ball (Hutton).
Looks like Bacuna may have had a decent game too.

Re: Reading Away Match Thread.
We played a 4-1-4-1. Kodjia was on the left wing with Gestede stranded on his own, so the goal is technically one from midfield. He did look a bit lost most of the time.
Jedi was actually good sitting in front of the defence and Gardner wasn't bad either. Hutton I don't think made any decent crosses, they all went over everyone's heads or out of play. Cissokho barely got forward, but then Kodjia wasn't really covering him so he couldn't.
We gave away possession on a constant basis. Gestede was stranded and given no service. We actually looked a lot better with Ayew and McCormack on.
My wife's giving me evils, I'll post more tomorrow!

Page 7 of this thread was brilliant. Everyone off for a wank. And not some "pour a bath, light some candles, pop on a bit of KennyG" rubbish either. No, no. Proper anal-intruding, wipe-THAT-off-the-ceiling stuff.
Fair play.

Re: Reading Away Match Thread.
Hit the pause button as the penalty is taken and you can see the ref telling the Reading players they're all in the box. Including the gaolscorer. Yet he let the goal stand?????

Mate, thats a proper sickner and the reason why i never bet on the Villa!
should have cashed out on 85 minutes as we were the last game to finish...

Yeah, someone posted a screenshot on twitter as the ball was being kicked and there were 2 players well into the box and you can see him telling them to get back.
If the rule is still the same, then it should be a retake?? but this means that the defending team get penalised regardless of who is encroaching into the box so as a forward you will always get a yard on a defender as a defender doesn't want a retake (and they are only usually awarded if they miss).
Surely they need to look at that rule and if a forward player encroaches then the forward team should be penalised.

I did notice that we were the last on that list and there might have been a cash-out option. But:
(a) it was stupid o'clock and I was fast asleep....maybe with a kangaroo according to images.
(b) I'm not so sure I would have cashed out anyway. I mean come on; Villa win? AWAY??? L.O.Fucking.L
