Newcastle V Aston Villa
My team
Guzan
Hutton, Clark, Okore, Richardson or Cissokho who ever does best in training
Westwood, Delph
Gill, Grealish, Sinclair
Benteke
5-0 Villa for me Benteke hat trick and goals for Gil and Sinclair, before we thrash baggies!

Hmmmm.....not sure we can pin our survival hopes on Grealish.
Change that midfield 3 to Bacuna, Gil and Sinclair and i think it's good to go. I think Gil could cause mayhem in that spot.

Spot on with Bacuna Trotters he has the ability to sniff out a goal, Gil and Sinclair are a shoe in.

I can always convince myself we will win. We have to win a league game at some point and reckon this will be the one. I would like to see Gill behind Benteke with Bacuna and Sinclair either side of Gill or something like that any way. Gonna go for a solid 2 nil, Benteke and Delph.

I like the idea of Bacuna but where does he go? On the right, where he can whip in crosses or on the left, where he can cut in and whip in goals? Does Sinclair play anywhere other than on the left wing?

Move the pair around, even get Gill moving from centre to either wing.

He needs a free role but that means we really need a big dirty bastard to sit in the middle and cover him. We just don't have that kind of player.

You want us to have 3 players on the pitch that could swap around during the game? You'd have to do it with those 3 as the rest wouldn't understand the concept.

I'm still in shock after the Stoke game, and at the moment I can't see how we can win a game. Ask me on Thursday or Friday and I might be more positive.
It's a loss at the moment for me.

Re: Newcastle V Aston Villa
I'd really love to be optimistic about this latest cup final but I think I saw something terminal at VP on Saturday.
Pretty sure that Newcastle will bounce back (o how other teams must love playing Villa) after Man City and give us a good kicking.
Lambert may be gone but we are still a joke I'm afraid.

As long as Gabby is nowhere near the squad , his performance on Saturday was truly awful !
Sanchez breaks up play pretty well , and then promptly gives it them straight back !
I fear the decision to rid us of Lambert is the right decision , only two years too late, we are about to reap these seeds !

Seriously....who said Grealish? 100% Heads Gone!!!!
Bacuna simply has to start...surely?
I think Sanchez has been quite poor the last couple of games, but he is still worth sticking with in my opinion as he wins a lot of ball for us.
My team for Newcastle, for what it's worth:
Guzan
Hutton -- Okore -- Clark -- Cissokho
----------Sanchez--Delph
Bacuna -------- Gil ----------- Sinclair
---------------Benteke

Bit controversial but how about 442, with
Guzan
Hutton,Okore,Clark,Cissoko
Bacuna,Delph,Westwood,Sinclair
Benteke,Gil
Or maybe Sinclair and Gil to swap.
Gabby and Weimann have had enough chances and deserve to warm the bench.

We all know you don't rate Grealish by now - nothing wrong with expressing your opinion but there is a problem in how you do it, so keep your posts more respectable to other posters.ViewFromT2 wrote:Seriously....who said Grealish? 100% Heads Gone!!!!

I'm liking this. I like Grealish a lot but he isn't really a tackler is he, and I wonder how much help Gil is going to give Hutton. Bacuna can defend and Benteke needs someone to play with, Gil could be just the man. Sanchez still might have a place but it would be instead of Westwood, not next to him, they do too similar a job, although Westwood's passing is miles better.

Re: Newcastle V Aston Villa
I think that a key player on Saturday will be Moussa Sissoko. He's the kind of big strong box to box midfielder that Sherwood loves.
We should have bought him instead of Sylla, they were the same price at the time but I believe we baulked at paying Sissoko 25/30,000 per week!

My team too. Sanchez, while our most physical midfielder, is the most prone to making irrational decisions and is the most likely to make a poor pass or tackle. I think Cleverly will shine under Sherwood and he'll prove that he is more of a box to box midfielder than either a defensive mid or an advanced playmaker, as he has been played in the past. Gabby has shown all season that he has neither deserved a new contract or even given a damn about playing for the badge. I remember when he scored his hat trick against Man City all those years ago and thought that he was truly going to become a fantastic player for Villa and England, but sadly he has gotten worse and worse over the years. The only explanation is that, like Heskey was before him, a good day to day trainer at Bodymoor, so these managers keep picking him for the match day squad again and again.

Re: Newcastle V Aston Villa
I don't know that is the answer Sinclair up front. But I DO know that the answer isn't Gabby or Weimann. So why the fuck not?
As for Cleverley, if he did leak that teamsheet because he had the shits at being left out then fuck him. Fuck him with a scabby donkey.

Re: Newcastle V Aston Villa
So what's the answer up front ?
Tekkers not doing it due to a possible lack of service, but doesn't seem to show any real desire to get the ball and have a go.
Gabby most people have said it all I have little to contribute as does gabby.
Weimann does have a go being used as an impact player, but not enough to score.
So who's left Kojak ? Robinson ? Grealish?, we cant get Bent back from loan to the inept management, so what do we do.
Push up the like of Bucuna, Gil Sinclair? Its a tough one for Timmy.
What might work is to let the players know that if we get relegated then the amount of pay is reduced by half to reflect the half hearted attempt at football at Villa park.
Depressed now, going to find a darkened room, and drink myself happy. This could take some time.

I'd go with that. Based purely on his 2nd half showing against Leicester I'd go for Cleverley over Westwood to start. He does get around the pitch better, making more tackles and better tackles than Westwood. Bacuna is capable of scoring the odd goal, is capable of creating a goal, so he should get a start. I like that starting 11 mfh.

Re: Newcastle V Aston Villa
Wiemann to be fair never gets played as a centre forward, put him up top in & around Benteke (if he has his interested head on ) & i think Wiemann could shine !
Guzan
Hutton , Okore, Clarke, Cissokho
Sinclair, Cleverley, Delph, Gil
Wiemann, Benteke
I dunno if TS will give 442 a go though ?
