How will we celebrate our 140th anniversary?
Aston Villa v Southampton
I thought we might as well start this thread early as we've already lost another player. Senderos has picked up a calf injury in training with the Swiss team, and has been sent home to Villa. At least Lambert is running out of excuses for not including Okore in the squad.

He'll play Clark who has been catastrophic since Houllier retired.

So, another fuck up. Well it just gets better. So, like you say vb, will Okore still be ignored. Fucking ludicrous.
3-0 to Southampton by the way.

If you ask me on Herd as well I'd say he is a symbol of the downfall of Villa, touted as a great prospect and has let Villa down on nearly every turn and then to add insult to injury he plays the "I don't want to play football" card and then we have him back only to never hear about him again, he's a bloody ghost, if he really wanted to get his career back on track he would be begging to go out on loan to the 1st team that showed an interest, he needs to get as far away from Villa as he can because I'm sick of him.

Re: Aston Villa v Southampton
Forcast from me is 0-2 to Southampton.. No goals against what is one of the strongest defences so far this season is almost guaranteed and with the complete mess that injuries has reduced our defence to we have to concede our customary couple of goals.
Still too many of our better players missing to hope for a result in this one sadly.
I would actually like to see what effect a run with all our players available had. But we cannot be going into a game like this without:
Senderos, Delph, Benteke, Kozack etc..Thats a rather large chunk of the spine of the team which is missing right there...We are not strong enough to withstand that much of a hole.

I agree wholeheartedly. But I'll stick an extra goal in the Against column and go for 3-0 Soton.

Re: Aston Villa v Southampton
The score depends on which centre backs are available. Southampton are too well organised for us, and will capitalise on defensive errors.
I think we'll hurry and scurry, huff and puff with the "freedom to express ourselves" (Lambert speak for "don't ask me, I've run out of ideas"). Southampton will have all the possession, and we will try to trick them into thinking we're useless, while waiting for the moment to pounce with errm .. ermm .. whoever is able to freely express themselves at the time.
That's sorted that out then, no massive point from this match. I can't wait to play Burnley though, because I think we will .... no forget it, we probably won't.

Forget guess-the-crowd, forget guess-the-result, let's try guess-how-long-it'll-take-to-string-five-passes-together. I'll say 22 mins.

Re: Aston Villa v Southampton
Apart from Lambert being completely useless the Gods are also conspiring against him with the injury to Senderos. Can't see any other result but another defeat and I wonder will this be the game when the Villa Park faithful finally turn?

Could be our heaviest home defeat for some time. Probably at least 0-4.
Saints just don't take prisoners, they will rip us apart.

Southamton put Sunderland to the sword, will do the same to villa.
Lambert has lost the respect of the team, they must be fed up with the tactics. Heads will drop because Southamton will score. Sad days.
