Aston Villa vs Bolton match thread
Sorry I'm late lads!!..been busy talking AMERICAN FOOTBALL over the last few days so this game totally slipped my mind . Anyways We've had a great week haven't we? Two decent wins and now we round it off with a game against the side rock bottom of the league. The form book couldn't be more in our favour. We're flying with confidence and scoring goals from all over the pitch. Our top players like Snoddy and Koj, who have lacked match fitness LATELY, should be really up for it aswell. Plus Adomah and Davis are on top form, and Chester and Terry are forming a brilliant partnership too. Meanwhile, Bolton have been right up against it ever since they arrived back in the championship. They had a transfer embargo over the summer, so they were unable to buy decent players and pretty much had to go with what they had. And as the table shows they've found it very tough. To their credit though I've seen a few of their games against Leeds and Boro at home and they really did push those two and caused major problems. They are good at set-pieces and have a striker who's decent in the air. It's at the back where they suffer though. They've played 532 for most of the season and the three centre-backs often get caught out of position.
Steve will no doubt keep the same side.
.................Johnstone......................
....Elmo....Chester..Terry...Taylor....
..Snoddy..Whelan..Hourihane..Adomah...
.............Davis....Kodjia..................
And we just have to hope that the lads remain professional and just get us those three points any way they can. Whether we blow them away or a backs to the wall one nill win. Just get those three points lads and let's head into the international break with smiles on our faces.
COME ON VILLA!!!

Can't see anything, but a loss to be honest. 2-0 Bolton

Is this the Pessimistic thread? 3-0 Villa, Kodjia to get at least a goal along with another clean sheet would make my weekend.

Didn't know you were into American Football AT. Who do you follow?
I think if Bolton have got any sense they'll come to VP looking to sit deep.
That's why we have to come roaring out of the blocks and hit them early, before they can get settled, and try and score quickly.
Then they won't know whether to stick or twist and we can pick them off at our leisure. (Sounds easy, don't it! )
We don't want to allow them to get set and into a pattern of doing 'defensive drill' for 90-odd minutes.
A fourth win in a row would be fantastic. We did it last season I know, but that felt like 'too-little-too-late' and our last-ditch playoff-push ended (coincidentally) with a draw away at Burton Albion. We went on to lose 3 of our final 4 games.
That draw at Burton was preceded by a run of 7 wins out of 8.
If, by the 2nd of November, we could be sitting on a similar record then I think we'll be right in the promotion mix.

If we play on the front foot then we will have too much for them, I don't think it will be a cricket score tho.

I'm coming down for the game from Bolton. Moved here 11 years ago so need a good win for bragging rights. Father in law went v Brentford and said they where shocking. They had morais send off in week so he's out. Cannot see anything but a home win. If we score early then I reckon 4-0

I said 3 - 0 for us against Forest and got it totally wrong so I am going for another 3 - 0 scoreline to us (I got to get it right sooner of later)!

Funnily enough i follow Chiefs as well, but the rugby kind!
Anyway, I think 4-0 Villa, Bolton will play a 10-0-0 formation and frustrate us/timewaste desperately. 1-0 ht but I think we'll score a few second half.

I was just saying to my old man that Bolton will park the bus and we won't be able to break them down. 2-0, with one long-distance effort deflected off three players and one own goal when Adomah smashes a speculative drive across the face of goal.

Every time I hear Adomah's name, I start singing the theme tune to Heartbeat in my head.

Whenever Villa fans on the whole are confident before a game, and are predicting a comfortable win for us, something seems to go wrong; I've got an uneasy feeling about today.

Yep you have a point BUT we have to be positive and hope that we will break another hoodoo when we smash em today, it has to happen as we are putting all our hoodoos to rest recently. UTVv

Not saying I think we'll lose, just knowing Villa in recent times can't take anything for granted, hopefully we get the win though.
