Or Gardner also when he was brought down for the free. Should have played him in well before the foul.

Re: Villa v Forest: match thread.
This just isn't good enough. Every single week. You can't create 40 chances a game and hit the target 5 or 6. It's Piss poor. Forest had 3 attempts and scored 2. We have created more chances than any other team in England so far and have the lowest conversion rate in the country. It's just not good enough
On a positive not I was impressed with kodjia today, he'll be a very good addition

Re: Villa v Forest: match thread.
very unlucky - again.
bullshit deflection in the build up to their second goal.
however I am concerned that we were lackluster in the center of the pitch before RDM made the change to bring Gestede on for Gardner.
we hit the woodwork twice and had a saved header that was nearly or perhaps over the line, and Ayew was always involved near the penalty area, but we never created any chances through the middle. it was always through Ayew or from a wide position.

Re: Villa v Forest: match thread.
RDM has to take the credit for throwing the kitchen sink at them. But while they're lying on the floor picking bits of kitchen sink out their heads, RDM has to get Jedinak out there to kill the game.
Having only Westwood as a defensive minded midfielder (a non-tackling variety) is a gamble. And once we'd hit the lead, that simply had to change.
For me, RDM was caught watching the game rather than managing it.
On the plus side, we had either 25 or 26 shots (depending on what report you read) and we should have scored 4 or 5. No question. That's also a bit of a 2nd rate team with Jedi, Tish, Amavi and Amoeba (whatever his name is) to come. There's also clearly a lot of work to do on our movement and time will be needed for the players up front to click properly but once they do, we'll be handing out some horrendous hidings.
A big plus is Grealish. He's coming on in leaps and bounds. His Dad will also be a massive knob-jockey though.
On the downside, Gardner is shit and definitely not even close to the standard required. Get rid ASAP. Westwood only passed the ball forward when just about everyone else on the team was in front of him; his natural tendency is to go back every time and it kills us off.
We lack the ability to get behind the opposition back 4 and that's not helped by Cissokho being total garbage at getting a ball in.
Our second-half voodoo looked for all the money in the world like it was setting in so it was a brilliant comeback not just in a footballing sense but a psychological one. But, for me, RDM let us down not securing things. Especially when Forest looked battered, bruised, knackered and beaten.
