Hate Forest and their fans. Some people reckon we've got delusions in viewing Villa as a big club but fuck me Forest fans really take the cake. Total shit from inside to out.

I can see a lineup of:

Gollini
De Laet Elphick Chester Amavi
Tshibola Jedinak
Adomah McCormack Ayew
Kodjia
Perfect excuse to use the Grealish injury to give Ayew one last chance ... and if it doesn't work then he should know he's going to lose his place.

A lot of Forest fans on Gardner's twitter feed asking him not to score and to have an off game.

Amazing the player they've seen to what we have.

Could this be the game that he feels like the big fish and everything changes for him psychologically and he goes on to be the player we've all hoped for since before the juniors won the Peace Cup?

I hope so. But I expect the usual from him; a nothing game where he loses the ball more often than he finds a team mate.

On the other hand, he's now surrounded by some good and some very good players, plus RDM and his (coaching) staff have had a couple of weeks to drill their ideas into them. If he still looks shit with good players around him, time to let him prove his worth in the U23s. I hope though he doesn't, and makes a good case for himself.

He should get a lot of game time this season with the number of matches, injuries, suspensions, etc.

If he's not made an impact by January then the club should be having a word that his career might be better served elsewhere.

And so far we've seen that the new board have no time for people not up to standard - whether they're born & bred Villa or otherwise. You're either up to standard AND working hard for the club or GTFO.

I just don't think Gardner has it in his locker. I won't doubt he was a talent within the academy and I remember people going on about him. Comparing him to players I haven't seen like Cowans. Saying Gardner could ping a ball 40 yards etc. I wonder what and where it went wrong, cause I haven't even seen Gardner ping a 2 yard ball.

If it's injuries it's quite sad, but hey ho. At least we now see that everyone that went on about GG being better than Westwood was wrong.

Looking at the table we need to start picking up some wins. Two big games this week and we really need to keep in touch with the chasing pack. That said I predict 2-2 here with a late equaliser for us this time.

Just got this off a Forest forum (I'm guessing our resident stato is on holiday):

According to BBC game stats, villa are averaging a goals to shots ratio of 8% (5 goals from 65 shots).

Of their shots on target they have scored 25% (5 goals from 20 )

Their opponents also have an approximate 8% goals to shot ratio (5 from 63 )

Their opponents goals from shots on target is slightly higher than villa's at 28% (5 from 18 )

Villa have scored 4 and conceeded just one goal in their two home games in the Championship so far this season

For Forest, 16% of their shots have resulted in goals (11 of 68 ) (However, they haven't scored away in the League so far)

Their goals from shots on target is 40% (11 of 27 )

Forest opponents Goals from shots % is 15% (11 from 73 )

And worryingly the opponents goals from shots on target is 50% (11 from 22 )

So far this season Villa are averaging 2 goals a game at home and Forest none. I'm hoping that we can break our duck, tomorrow, but I suspect that as the players we've brought in over the break were not generally match fit and we have lost Ollie that we may be a little weaker for this game than the other away games. Hope I'm wrong but think it miught be 2-1 Villa.

(Stats relate to League games only)

I missed the first ten minutes. Commentator said the delay due to injury took a bit of the sting out of our play. But we've looked decent in the ten minutes I have seen so just how good were we looking?

All over them but no real clue in the final 1/3

Game and crowd has died a death now

Amazing with all that fire power up front that we still haven't had a shot on target and we are lacking ideas in the final third.

Bizarre.

Ayew isn't doing it for me. Hasn't tracked back to help De Laet on a few occasions and can't make the right decisions when going forforwards

Ayew yet again could have easily played Mac in then yet chose not to.

There's either an issue between them or Ayew is just a totally selfish prick. Either way, he has to be taken off.

I think kodjia has done well this half. He looks a nuisance. We really need to win this. Forest are there for the taking

Time after time, Westwood runs out wide and takes a couple of Forest players with him but Gardner just stands around instead of finding one of the many pockets of open space to receive the ball.

Grealish and Kodjia seem very switched on, very mobile and very high quality. As does the defence.

Ayew needs to have a £1000 goal scoring bonus and a £5000 fine if he shoots off target. I think he'd be a hell of a player if he wasn't so selfish.

McCormack needs to sort himself out sharpish. Looks like a nothing player to me.

The dreaded 2nd half coming up. If the Forest manager has the first clue, he'll realise his team automatically have the psychological advantage.

Yeh ive been disappointed with Mccormack so far. No doubt he's knows where goal is but like commenter keeps saying we are 11 points from top already before today so we have to start scoring and winning games

To be fair to McCormack he's been open in acres of space in their box on 3 occoccasions and each time Ayew hasn't even tried to play him in
