It really is a problem to get rid of players that don't want to go. We're paying the price for poor decisions made by the former regime. I was told recently that Gabby only wants to live in, Brum, Dubai or Florida. Football is very low on his list of priorities.

The problem with trying to force him out, is that I'm sure within the small print of his contract, he will have certain rights. I'm pretty sure his lawyers would soon be screaming about stuff like constructive dismissal.

Can't he just be put on gardening leave. He'll still be paid but he won't be around the club causing disruption.

I think the transfer window is a bit arse about face. Premiership clubs theoretically have a 2 hour extension umtil 1am as long as they complete a "Deal sheet" between 9 and 11pm today and yet domestically speaking they need extra time least.
Now, I'm sure that there are some prem players who want a move but really to another prem club and they hold out and hold out hoping that they get their wish. If deadline day for championship clubs was a day later,  then the same for L1 and L2 clubs,  I think that there would be more "trickle diwn" movement as players opt to drop to at least get first team football. If each division was only allowed - for this extra time period - to buy or loan from the division immediately above, I think we'd see less players who have missed the boat languishing on the bench or in the reserves and also lower teams.get to grab players they would otherwise miss.
Just a suggestion/food for thought?

I like that idea about staggering the deadlines. I doubt Sky would allow it to happen as I'm sure they think they run football these days.

this Adomah chap is a bit of a character in a better way than some of the 'characters' we've had at this club who have given the honourable title of 'club clown' a bad name.

Adomah will show them what being a clown is like and we will need a new word for the old 'clowns.'

can't complain this window our team is unrecognizable. now is the time to make them gel. It will take time but it will happen.

so they did not achieve the last minute revised plan which took account of recent results.

still, if team chemistry can be found it will be one heck of a team which should be able to score loads of goals.

if we can keep them out the signings we have give us a chance at promotion.

agreed. The last two signings are important, a wide man was needed and a new striker. On paper we should score loads but we need to get the balance right.

I think the 'EARLY PLAN' means early in the scale of getting us back into Europe. Getting some players in with better attitudes that can give us a chance of winning games.

towards the end of the piece it explains how Karanka got him playing with more awareness and discipline in a 4231 - got to think that the team-sheet that BillytheKid and others were outlining earlier on pages 28 & 29 is pretty much RDM's vision.

...and as was also said doesn't half make our bench look strong with Ayew and Rudy on it.

Very very happy shame the other two didn't materialise but if anyone would have told me in May we would be taken over by a really ambitious new owner who wanted the deadwood gone we would be spending more than Premiership clubs and the most ever in the Championship and rebuilding the team and management structure overhaul even adding a Champions league winning manager in the Championship i think i would have toild them they are talking bollox tbh

This is the start of something beautiful it feels it, i got a funny feeling when we get promoted we will be like Man City and competing for top top players.

Tony has said don't worry bout ACON. We'll get loans and and 1/2 in. Love him!
