When he came on (sorry, tampon pun) on Saturday I watched him closely as I still couldn't make my mind up about him as I think he does have massive potential. He immediately went on a fantastic run that blew their midfield and defence away,  but failed with the final ball. I thought Christ if he carries on like this anything could happen. He then proceeded to do precisely fuck all for the rest of the game and particularly failed to even try and track back. What little flurry Rotherham did manage against us in the latter stages tended to come from that area and bacuna was overloaded.
So whilst I disagree with Joppe that he's a woeful player,  I do think his mindset doesn't fit what is being built at Villa. If you aren't willing to shed blood for the cause,  you ain't gonna fit in this team. Woeful,  no. Unfulfilled potential and a lazy attitude - possibly. Either way not one I'll miss too much as he isn't compatible with the new,  re-booted Villa under Xia and RDM.

I think he's woeful for the simple fact that he can't even do basics right. Steroid infused belgian blue he might look like, he has pace no doubt, but he's a broken record for me. He runs 30 yards, does well, proceeds to fumble a pass or straight out lose possession. Give me an old fashioned winger like Albrighton any day. Or Green for that matter.

I've said it before and I'll say it again Traore is the most overhyped player at this club in my life time.

Yeah I do get your point of view but for me, woeful is lescott, Richardson etc. Agree Traore has been overhyped compared to what he's delivered,  but I guess we haven't seen what we expected-maybe we never would have, too injury prone for one, as Dan says. It's just, for me, some players are hopeless,  but I always harboured some hope for Adama. Anyway, it''s a bit like discussing the merits of the past - it was what it was. I'm interested in the future, cos it's bloody interesting and exciting!

By this coming weekend we should be well on the way to completing signings. Expect a couple of surprises come Deadline day.

Saw some amazing stats on Transfermarkt.co.uk yesterday.

With the Jedinak transfer, Villa's nett spend is now almost £21M (Expenditure: £36.89M; Income £16.02M)

No other EFL team comes close to this. The closest is Bristol City (Nett spend £5.36M)

Newcastle, who the media like to portray as the 'financial muscle men' of the Championship, have a nett spend of minus £4.63M (£43.78M spent; £48.41M income).

Amazingly they have been outspent by every Championship club, except four (Blackburn, Fulham, Reading, QPR). Even the Blues have a higher nett spend than Newcastle, and they're potless!  

Also, as of yesterday, Villa had outspent 12 of the 20 Premier League teams and, whilst I don't expect this to be the case when the Window shuts, I still think it puts Dr Xia's financial commitment to this club into true perspective.

It's certainly been the most brilliant transfer window! We essentially needed a completely new team without having the ability to attract decent players. But Xia has only gone and done it!

As for Adama....I think someone described him last week as one of those kids you see on YouTube or busking for cash around shopping centres by doing all kinds of keepy-uppy tricks, but can't actually play football.

If he's unavailable for 3 games and the one he plays in he goes missing for 85 minutes, what's the point? If Barcelona haven't managed to teach him how to pass a ball with even the slightest accuracy then no one else is going to.

I can imagine he gets the ball in training and then just goes off on one while everyone else just stops and watches. We all remember the kid like that at school.

Good luck to him though. Heck of a player but never a footballer.

Regarding Adama............

Football is a TEAM game and anyone who cannot fit into that thinking has to change or go.

To a much much lesser extent and both in completely different ways, we need Ayew and Grealish to realise this to become the great players they undoubtedly could be.

I agree about Adama shame as he looks to have that burst of pace that terrifies the opposition but as already said on here he has never been available for a consistent amount of games for us which is no good for a starters, he seems to be one of them wingers that will be out injured every other week and he has not impressed any manager we have had since he has been here which tell's you something about his attitude maybe, i wouldn't flog him for less than £5 million or maybe use him as a part ex tool for someone like Praet or El Ghazi.

Hopefully he really does want to play football because I think he's got a shock coming to him when his agent informs him he's only getting offers of 1/4 of his current ridiculous wage.

He's obviously very fit, but he looks more like Linford Christie than a footballer and that's probably why he's injured all the time.

He's a poor man's Raheem Sterling. At best he is the type of player you stick on for the last 10 minutes when you are chasing a game and hope he does something.

Very pleased to have Jedinak in, as i think that was the biggest place we have been missing a leader for some time, Gana and Delph are decent players but not leaders. this man will boss the midfield in this league!

I don't think we've seen a fit and settled Traore. No, he can't defend, so only currently works if we have a strong enough defence/it's the end of the match and we are already ahead and want to take it to them. Saying that, Sanchez was only ever a sub to come on at 60 or 70 minutes to help defend a lead and break up attacks, see Tuesday's match. We can't really afford too many of these players who can't do a full 90 minutes or be all things to all men. If we keep Traore though I would be interested to see what RDM, Clarke and so on can make of him.

No names available at the moment mate. Bamford has been mentioned but nothing concrete and Morrison seems to have dropped of the radar completly

Ayew is a better option to Traore IMO

Traore has raw pace and trickery but seems to lack a footballing brain. He's a better version of Gabby. He could settle and improve but when you add in his injuries he clearly won't be a loss as we haven't had him available enough to lose!!

Ayew isn't prolific in front of goal. Should score 10 but I can't see him getting close to RMac or Gestede by the end of the season. having another striker like a Bamford would be much better. If we'd had Ayew on the bench to bring on at 60/70mins against Huddersfield we'd have won - he can run at defences, take on players, might not score but scares them enough to drop deeper and is physical enough to hold up the ball.
