Before Richards' goal, that was easily one of the most disinterested, lacklustre villa performances I've ever seen. How Richardson continues to steal a living I will never know, the bloke is a lobotomised skidmark on the toilet bowl of football.

Well at half time there's good and bad - defence looks weak mainly due to a combination of changing personnel. nervous play and to be fair at times Watford do press in numbers and move very well with and without the ball. Couple of good saves from Guzan but he looks nervous as well - would need another look at their goal to see if he could have done better than trying to chest it away could he have had time to catch the initial shot - not sure.
We do look very good going forward - pace and also a willingness to take on and pass an opponent followed by a more direct run/pass towards goal. A combination of outright wastefulness allied to some not-quite-there-in-time frustration in front of goal means we've spurned the chance to be 2 or 3-1 up. If we can defend better/track back from midfield better and continue with our attacking momentum, there's no reason why this cannot be 3-1 final result.
I have to say I do think I can see what Garde is trying to do and fair play if we keep attacking like this and sort out at the back there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I'm with Joppe though as he said the other day, this is a must win, and I don't use that term often either.
Great header from Richards from the free kick to level it - if you aren't watching the game - check out what it means to him after he scores, if they show his reaction - no doubt how much he wants it.
Second half coming up, come on you lions!

69% possession, 10 shots 5 on target, 7(?) corners, some storming runs by Sinclair and Hutton, missed opportunities, frailty in defence and nonsensical passing, a pearl of a free-kick and a gorgeous headed goal.... I don't know how to process what the fuck I'm watching as it is equal parts brilliant and horrific, but game on!

Funny though - the stream I'm watching is obviously a minute or 2 slow, and I had final score on the TV - said to the missus - "look, idiots have got the score wrong as it showed 1-1 - then 1 minute later I watched the Richards goal go in, duh - realised I am behind live by 2 mins. Was glad it wasn't a mistake though!
