Re: Aston Villa v Chelsea
Okore, Clark, Gil (if we can), Westwood, Bacuna, Weimann, Hutton and Cissokho I reckon we should try to keep hold of, I imagine the rest are on relegation clauses. I reckon Delph has more assists for the opposition than for us.
Sorry, I'm being negative about Villa again.
I thought the formation today wasn't so bad and we gave them hell for a while in the first half and at the start of the second but just gave up at the end. Cleverly and Cole though? Really? I'd have started Benteke and I think Grealish could have played Cleverly's role well. Grealish and Gil could make a good partnership. Does Grealish still play for us?

He will eventually, let's hope we don't have to wait that long.

He has coasted along to yet another let off, I hate the bloke with passion, I've never hated another human being before I met Lambert, I really am getting sick of his dodges of the sword.

Better performance and, at last, a goal but it's another defeat and a step closer to relegation.
It's not, but it is beginning to feel inevitable.

Did anyone expect a result against chelsea. Imho I didnt think that we played that bad. We were playing against 12 men that being the bloody ref. Westwood was the star player, gabby mehh cleverly I would happily drive him back to united.
Gill was really good ali s was ok as well. Hutton good as always, so there was some positives, ohh we scored as well. So in my drug induced haze I thought we were ok. Going to crawl into a small warm space and wait for the Hull game.
Did anyone notice benteke warming up at half time he did not appear to be too interested?

We lost as expected but we put up more of a challenge than I expected. The performance was better and Carles Gil is a class apart. It's just a shame we didn't get anther striker in the window!
Hull is an absolutely must win game which Lambert always seems to pull something out of the fire when that is the case. Fuck knows how, he's a clueless cnut the rest of the time!!

To be fair to Benteke - he did have a bad injury to come back from.

I think we played well today, if we can replicate that in the next six matches we should be adding some points.

Agreed vb The Hull game is vital. We must win it at all cost. The worring thing is the draw against manure city.

Re: Aston Villa v Chelsea
Problem is, people said that after we were the better team v Spurs prior to the red card, or after we should have beat Man U, or after we had a decent 20 minutes against Liverpool, or when we beat Bournemouth reserves. So I'm not holding my breath I'm afraid.villabromsgrove wrote:I think we played well today, if we can replicate that in the next six matches we should be adding some points.

Re: Aston Villa v Chelsea
There's no point playing beautiful football in 75% of the pitch if we don't do anything in the opposition 25%. Scored today thanks to.some magic from Gil and.then Lambert comes out today and.says he doesn't know where it's best to Play him! What happens in training where the manager is supposed to assess the squad to decide his team.
Clearly Gil is the potential saviour so play him where he wants to and build the team around that. If he wants to.be b second striker behind Benteke then let him. If he wants to be a wide forward in a 433 then let him. Whatever it is that gets the best out of him because that will get goals for us and maybe even a win or two
