Lose, lose or lose against Chelsea?
Re: Aston Villa v Chelsea
The funny thing is injury crock Joe Cole has done more in 90mins than Cleverley all season!

It is actually true in as much as Cole's performance against Burnley was better than anything that Cleverley has done all season. :evil:avfc85 wrote:The funny thing is injury crock Joe Cole has done more in 90mins than Cleverley all season!

(On high dose antibiotics, cellulitis in my elbow. Badly infected so it was this or getting admitted for IV antibiotics. Anything to avoid it getting septic seeing as I ignored it getting worse and worse for the past 4 days...)
Um, not that, er, I'd know, because, er, it's not like, um, I've ever, er, done that....
Knowling my luck if I did that I'd drunkenly fall over, land on my elbow and end up having to learn to wipe my arse left handed!

I can't see us getting anything against Chelsea so I reckon 3-0 Chelsea.

Best bet is lets get it over with and "go again" we just need to make sure that we get stuck into the teams that come along in the games after, can't stand anymore of this rubbish, we should be above this position with our squad but the confidence is so low its unbelievable. Surely the management can motivate them obviously not........

Re: Aston Villa v Chelsea
The problem with this 'looking past Chelsea' thing is that last season, beating Arsenal away, and Chelsea and Man City at home, and a point at Anfield - so 10 points against last seasons top 4 - was massive in keeping us up. Had we lost all 4 - or even just the 3 we won - we'd have finished bottom.Saunders82 wrote:Best bet is lets get it over with and "go again" we just need to make sure that we get stuck into the teams that come along in the games after, can't stand anymore of this rubbish, we should be above this position with our squad but the confidence is so low its unbelievable. Re: Aston Villa v Chelsea
Plus we should be going into every game thinking we can win it.
At the moment the poll above has 52% on 'a total thrashing', 33% on 'a big loss' and just 6% on a win. Sad isn't it, and not only does the opposition know we're here for the taking, the opposition does too. With the exception of two people on the poll above, all our optimism has been drained away. We've tried telling the owner and CEO the enjoyment's gone, ticket and merchandise sales must be hitting the owner in the pocket and we're dropping down the table like we can't do anything about it. Our only hope surely is somehow someone gets through to Lambert and he somehow holds his nerve and pulls us out of this. The January window is closed, Kozak may or may not come back and the manager seems to be staying no matter what so it looks like we're stuck with what we have until the end of the season. The two new players do look good though.

Your last sentence says it all Foxy, you've written a whole paragraph about the bad state of Villa, and then you've finished with a note of hopeful optimism. We can't help ourselves can we? Well done mate.FoxyAV wrote:Plus we should be going into every game thinking we can win it.

Mourinho hasn't won in his five games at Villa Park. Think that is going to change today though.

Re: Aston Villa v Chelsea
I can't see us scoring against any decent defence and can't see us not coinciding against a top team so on that basis, we will lose today!?
Sadly, that sums up our present predicament under the clueless one and will not improve until he finally leaves Villa Park.

He's dropped Benteke and Sanchez. Thankfully he's retained faith in the goal & assist machine that is Tom Cleverley.

Lambert's so inept, noises are coming out from the Cleverley camp that he isn't going to be staying at Villa, he has performed extremely poorly by not doing anything useful, yet seems to play any game without question what bothers me is though Cleverley really won't get 2 f**ks whether we stay up or go down as he will easily go to another team on a free.

Re: Aston Villa v Chelsea
Swap Gil for Cole and Delph for Bacuna, and I reckon the subs bench would beat that XI.

I know Benteke has been p*ss poor, even so Weimann and Gabby are no target men to hold the ball up to get Gill in the game, all I can see is us totally dominated by Chelsea with no escape route.
