Aston Villa v Leicester FA Cup 5th round Feb 14th/15th.

After the Hull debacle, I've changed my mind about this match. I'm really not sure that we've got it in us to win any game, whoever it is against.

Leicester don't have a strong squad but you can bet they'll be more organised and more determined to win than we are. I think we'll struggle I really do.

If Leicester go 1-0 up they will feed off the bile and vitriol from the stands, Lambert will look even more like a broken alky waiting outside Quiksave for someone to buy him a drink, and Villa will lose 3-0

What I saw at Leicester was the worst I have seen for many a year, but here he is, still there and still as useless.

I get the impression that the more noise and fuss we make, the more Lerner is saying "don't tell me how to run my club you ungrateful b******s.Im not sacking him now or ever".

We're powerless and impotent.

We are bystanders, rubbernecking whilst our great club slowly sinks beneath the waves like a torpedoed merchant ship.

He has to play Weimann up front with Benteke. Of course he can just stick on five in midfield with one striker up front (it almost worked for Chelsea so therefore can work for every other game?) but it's not going to get us anywhere.

The Leicester match is meaningless as far as I'm concerned. If we win we get another distraction from the only thing that matters .... Survival!

I think we will purposely loose this game by fielding the kids out, I really can't see the sense in jeopardising our survival, Lambert has done some real damage that requires more attention than the cup this season.

This is now a game to show the players we are completely behind them and it was Lambert that was the issue.

I have faith in the kids and reckon they can win this. Strikers can't score? Get Burke and Robinson on the pitch with Grealish in the hole behind them. Give them the opportunity to show what they can do for the new manager. I've been negative for too long, time to find some positivity again.

Weird huh, at 5 to 8 tonight I would have put a loss down, now I've forecast a win.

Optimism is an amazing thing, there's not one shred of evidence that anything is better, logic dictates that it may be worse still, given no manager and a league position that hurts plus some seriously lazy fuckers in the team, and yet........and yet........as i said, weird huh?!

Is Sid in charge of the 1st team now? Who is going to manage the team on Saturday? Even if we hired someone today, I doubt he would start until next week.

Sid is the only option as I see it Mitch.

You never know. The board could pull a Swansea and put someone like Shay Given in charge until a new manager is sorted.

Anyway, I think we'll beat Leicester on Saturday. It won't be pretty, but I think Sid will tell the squad that their pride is at stake and they owe themselves a win.

No, I just don't understand why we let the assistants to the moron who got us into this situation take over the reins, instead of our universally revered club legend reserves manager.

Cowans doesn't want it. I went to the night with the 82 squad and listened to him speak. He adores the Villa but you could tell it would literally break his heart if he was in charge and we went down.

Also Andy Marshall has been here since the MoN days. He's not Lambert's guy

Lambert made both of them 1st team coaches though. Andy Marshall was just a shit 3rd string goal keeper, who all the players loved because he volunteered to go to all the shitty meet & greets and autograph sessions with the fans instead of them. He only made one 45 minute pre-season appearance for us in the 3 years he "played" for us.

So who exactly do you suggest?

We are we are, really don't see the point in getting upset about it.

I really don't care if Vlaar, Given, or Tom Fox himself managed us themselves for a match, as long as nobody from the group of coaches who broke so many club records for the wrong reasons goes anywhere near the training ground. Do you think those guys would will want to win on Saturday, just to fuck off next week when we get our actual manager in?
