The sad thing is, we appeal, card rescinded, but still potentially lose 2 or 3 points because of ineptitude and bias

To be fair it was an aggressive challenge at pace. However, his feet were on the ground and it was only a clash of legs. Need to see it later on MOTD.
My feeling is it was a yellow card because he was just beaten to the ball by Young.
What the sending off did was neutralise our threat on the counter-attack, at least until N'Zog and Bacuna were brought on. That was a good substitution from Lambert.

What a performance from everybody today. Terrible decision cost us potentially having more of a go at it but even with 10 we matched them and had plenty of chances.
Only criticism today would be why does it take injuries for us to find players who are probably our best performers ? Bacuna looked great, Okore and even Clark. Lambert has to be blindfolded at training!

Seen it and on replay, not a sending off.

That was my thought too. I was cheering until I saw it was for Gabby and I was shocked... Horrible decision... That said, that decision seemed to galvanize the team and we didn't look like we were a man down at all.
Personally, I thought it was our best performance of the season. Say what you want about Lambert but the tactics were spot on today. Manure don't know how to play another team with 3 at the back and struggled all around. After Bacuna and N'Zogbia came on, we took control and had several opportunities to win the match there in the last 10 minutes. The whole team was excellent but I thought Delph, Benteke, and Okore were fantastic. Great performance going into the holiday period, which traditionally is Lambert's worst period. Let's hope we can buck the trend this season. UTV!!!!

Agbonlahor's first ever red card will be rescinded.

C'mon now Randy you've just watched that (where ever you are?) and you have to get your wallet out to keep Delph, Vlaar and Benteke in claret and blue shirts. Add another couple of quality players next month, it's fun being a Villa fan Randy if you're prepared to go the extra mile!

Lambert must have been told to change things around, it was a good game, the sending offs, and replacements just show what villa can do. Hope he keeps it up.Green Villan wrote:Lambert needs to keep this up!
Lambert must realise that attacking is the best options.

There were still some bang-my-head-against-the-wall moments but overall not too bad, especially down to 10, happy with the draw.

Likewise. The whole holte was chanting off off off for young being studs up and then he shows it to Gabby. Horrendous decision which is just the norm when playing those sugarbags

Got to say this was one of the best games that Lambert has played, 10 men and that never say die attitude what I've been begging for, can't fault the lads, can't fault Lambert, Okore MOTM for me, he single footedly saved us from 3-0 in the 1st half, second half he was a beast!

Benteke is a fucking legend, I love how he was fuming at Bacuna for not passing it to him, we need more of this fight.

Re: Aston Villa v Manchester United
Lambert wasn't the catalyst for change .... the many fans who respectfully got in Tom Fox's ear can take the credit.
Whatever the reason for change, well done Paul Lambert for embracing it, and throwing the team forward even with ten men.
