An idea from some of the other ex player threads, those players who shook the holte end, the only rule is the must have played at least 1 games for us but no more than 20, heres who i got so far

in goal, Gabor Kiraly, signed on a short term loan deal after Sorenson & Taylor got injured at the same time in 2006, solid enough at saving shots, but the decision making abilities of a gold fish

RB - Phil Bardsley, a rare signing for martin O'Neill, a right footed, right sided right back, signed on a 6 month loan deal in 2006 from Manchester united, he quickly settled in and became a regular, before MON realised, who needs a specialist right back, when you can spend million on a center half and get him to play there instead

CB - habib beye, its difficult to put into words just how bad this signing was for us, both on and off the pitch, 30 years old when villa agreed to pay the just relegated Newcastle £2.5million pounds for a player who would go on to make a handful of appearances in 4 years, pocketing £40,000 a week in the process, was last seen in a villa shirt getting turned inside out by a part time footballer against rapid Vienna, losing 2-1 at home in 2011/12

RW - Didier Agathe - nonentity.

Michael Boulding and Gustavo Bartlet would be my strikers.

Bartelt's wiki says he never played a game for Villa but I am pretty certain he did. Maybe it was a cup game?

Had a chuckle to myself doing this. There were a few I thought of that didn't actually manage a game (I could probably do a team of those alone) and a few that had just over 20 (Colin Calderwood, Oyvind Leonhardsen etc)

I opted not to use kids that only lasted briefly, but I still imagine I have forgotten loads...

I saw him play for the reserves, pretty sure he didn't play for the first team though. He might have been an unused sub I suppose

A name popped up when I was sorting through some old programmes - Darren Bradley. I remember watching him for the reseves a number of times but didn't releaise he'd played 20 times for the first team before moving to WBA. Adrian Heath is another - he actually as I remember was pretty decent for Everton but don't remember anything about his short spell with us other than he wasn't very good.

Anybody remember Adam Rachel coming on at Blackburn when Oakes was sent off? And Michael Standing being the hot prospect when we signed him and Barry from Brighton.

How about Vaclav Drobny? Had him on loan, but didnt play a game for us. Sadly died a few years ago.

Also remember a few players from the 90's, cant remember there names but sounded like fernando courtolo or something like that.

We also had agathe, leonharsden and sutton, always forget they played for us.

David Unsworth signed for Villa under Gregory, but didn't even get through pre season before he left.

I remember it well. It's startling to realise that I am now of an age, as certain younger fans might not even know that happened! Sigh.   

Jermaine Jenas should also be added to the list, by the way.

Quite a few of the current squad won't live long in the memory.

Gary Penrice has to be in there somewhere and Nigel Callaghan. O
