Hull equalised against Wolves and Fulham leading Leeds.

Re: Aston Villa v Reading match thread
We are all over them but the final ball is awful, crossing high balls into Hogan is stupid, if it was me I would take off Taylor go 3 at the back and go 2 up top, Reading have hardly had the ball so we could do it easily, and why oh why don't we have Jack or anyone for that matter surging into the box. They just cue up waiting to head the crosses away, if we don't put this to bed with a BIG score then we want shooting.

Re: Aston Villa v Reading match thread
Can't even score against ten man Reading, the collapse we've witnessed since the Wolves game should be a sackable offence in itself, the way things are going we might need new manager bounce just to give us a chance of getting through the play-offs, not that that would happen of course.

Hourihane.
Bring on Kodjia and get him a goal.
And apparently he's getting ready!

Both wingers off, Onomah and Kodjia on. How does that work? I assume though Bruce is resting the two of them.

Villa in total control, looks like we've shaken off the blip.
Great to see Hourihane getting on the scoresheet

Sounds like Kodjia's played well since he came on.

That was so one sided it was a joke, but we still managed to make hard work of scoring though, it should have been a cricket score, but we used our squad and kept some fresh for the run in.

All we need to do is keep giving the big man as many minutes as possible so that IF we do have to settle for the playoffs, he will be raring to go by the time the first leg Is played. Him In form supported by Adomah, Snoddy, Hourihane and Jack is simply deadly imo.

Did Thor make us a lot more mobile? I like him in midfield.

By all accounts he was the man of the match. That's four goals and two assists for him now. Want to see him, Hourihane and Grealish have a good run as the central three now as I think they are more than capable of chipping with loads of goals and assists down the stretch.

Excellent. The three of them make an excellent central midfield.

For me Thor is one of the first names on the team sheet on his current form.

He seems to mobilise the midfield, which mobilises everyone around them. Jedi is unfortunately slow and Whelan is immobile and they both slow down the midfield as they need to be covered. Thor just gets on with it and allows everyone else to do their job.
Incidentally I'm glad Hogan started and scored, it's a good idea to rotate and rest players over the next few matches.

Re: Aston Villa v Reading match thread
Good win that.
Thor was the standout MOTM. What a fucking performance! Nevermind his goal, which was a good finish, he absolutely bossed the midfield and ran the entire middle of the park!
Hat off to Mannone, made 2 particular excellent saves. One at his near post from Kodjia which he did well to get down to and another from (I think) a Hourihane curler he tipped around the post. Would've been 4 or 5 nil without him.

Just for clarity, the above was not a dig at anyone whatsoever.

Re: Aston Villa v Reading match thread
Score hid a multitude of shortcomings IMO - We were floundering badly in front of goal until Thors wonderstrike - great bit of tenacity by Hogan for his goal - but it was a very poor night for hogan IMO.
Grealish seems to have gone back into his shell - he needs to be more like he was against wolves - hurt the opposition - to often he just dawdles on the ball then passes it to a player behind him.
Terry, Snodgrass, Thor all awesome last night though. Hope Kjodia finds his shooting boots soon though !
