Re: Aston Villa v Wigan
Sounds like Clark might be playing at left-back.

Wigan pull one back, but then Hogan scores a thumper straight after to make it 3-1, Bruce is turning into Biesla all of a sudden.

3-1 now, could have had more to be fair too.

Been watching the periscope link. Those goals from Adomah and Hogan's second looked superb. How close were we to getting a 4th as well!

4-1 final score, could have easily been double that, Doyle-Hayes looking like a very good player.

Well I can't remember the last time we scored 4 back to back. Hogan looking good can only be good for us. Shame he played so long in a way. Wonder if he'll feature on Friday.

Re: Aston Villa v Wigan
Good showing apart from Gary Gardner I thought everyone had a good game.
De Laet - I was really impressed with - playing in a number positions and looked solid
Adomah - Superb game
Bjarnson - sure made some mistakes but was influential in some good moves
Doyle -Hayes - wow liked the way he played himself into the game - kept it simple and tight at first - but then as everyone else tired his passing and reading of the game came into its own
Hogan - not been a fan so far - but looked more involved tonight - 2nd goal was a peach.
Tonight reminded of villa in the 1970's - League Cup - lots of goals and a few youngsters getting in on the act

No mention of Bree? Played right back and centre half at times - looked solid at centre half. Agree regarding De Laet - surely Hutton must be out now, De Laet is streets ahead. Thought Clarke looked quite solid too.

Or gave McCormack a chance to impress a watching scout? We never know why one player or another is selected. Gardener and Elphick were surely in the shop window too.

It's a win win I think when it comes to playing McCormack and Gardner. If they play bad the desperate clubs that were interested in the first place won't care about it. They will think they can sort the player out and in worst case haggle on price. If they played well they will most likely push through any interest and accept our deal.
The absurd and very disappointing bit is playing e Laet and Bree. Which means Hutton is nailed on for the weekend. I really wanna support Bruce, but this is a total dealbreaker. Dean Smith as new manager please.

McCognac was shite when he came on but there was nothing to lose in giving him 20 mins or whatever it was

I don't think Hutton is nailed on at all. If that's the case then is Gabby gonna start too? Bree is a nineteen-year-old lad who I'm sure can easily play on Friday aswell. Whilst De Laet has barely played this season so another game three days later is hardly gonna be tough for him imo. I expect to see Hogan, Adomah, Bree and De Laet all in the squad at Bristol.

Except he is now cup-tied for any potential purchaser still in the competion (inc Sunderland and Leeds).

We aren't talking the champions league mate. He's cup tied for the caravan league cup. Hardly a priority for teams chasing promotion.

Lets wait and see what the team is on Friday shall we, love him or hate him Brucie seems to be giving ALL of his squad some game time, which IMO is only good if they are called on to play. We have seen 8 goals now in two games, I'm hoping we are seeing the green shoots appearing.
