Im bored all ready !

I wonder if we could have a transfer prediction contest

Guessing outs would probably be quite easy.....

In-comings not so much

Any ideas for a format ? - Im happy to run the thing -

How about points for a correct prediction & extra points based on how many days away from the date he signs & extra points for getting the transfer fee right or close?

So for example:(Based on the official site breaking the news)
500 points for correctly predicting the player
1000 points for correctly predicting the hour the news breaks that he signs.
500 points for correctly predicting the actual date he signs
100 points which reduces by 25 points per week either side of the date.
500 for an exact correct guess of the transfer fee
100 points reducing by 25 points per million either way of the actual fee

Example - Person A predicts we will sign "John Doe" for 8m on 23rd June
John Doe signs on 10th July for 8m

Person A gets 500 points for correctly predicting the player + 100 points for correctly predicting the fee and 50 points for being 2+ weeks away from the correct date. total 650 points.

The only issue will be keeping track of it all lol! Good luck with that Smetrov

Also you would need some kind of way to prevent everyone predicting all at once when some hot news breaks.

Maybe deduct points for late guesses or not allow guesses when news breaks or something?

Guess the weekend / fixture number of the Blues derby games?

OK the idea is forming in my mind

Depatures - easy enough

Players in - more difficult - I thinking points if you can predict which division they come from - more points if you can predict which club, and bonus points if you get the players

Monthly submissions - and the earlier you predict - the more points - you get.....

Or we scould just chat about whether or not bruce is shit or not all summer !

First 5 games? This is trackable. I love Smetro's idea but working it all out would take time I don't have.

The downside to the firsr match/matches idea is that it's totally arbitrary; there's no skill at all.

Roughly - by some date in May - you select 10 players you think we will sign. - (these will score you 25 points)
By some date in june you select 7 players (these will score you 10 points)
July (5 points )
August (3 points)
players out (any time) 2 points
