Re: Summer transfer window 2017/18
Probably something of nothing but I saw a Wolves fan earlier suggest that they've heard that we're in for Fletcher from Wednesday. Wednesday wanted Hourihane before he signed for us, and with Bruce seeming not to favour him, it did make me wonder if a swap might be on the cards, I hope not.
Bruce has said that we aren't finished with the ins though, but has said we still need to sell to buy, and that there's nothing imminent on that front.

The Lolley rumour is not without substance.
I know he is a villa fan - but sorry I just don't think he is good enough.

Have I read somewhere that Bacuna handed a transfer request in after Saturdays game?

Must see champions league in his future again. What a fucking cock-juggling spunk-trumpet.

Re: Summer transfer window 2017/18
I doubt the stories of him handing in a transfer request have any credibility whatsoever. After the game, an article was published by Peter O'Rourke, suggesting that he was unhappy, but it doesn't take genius to work that out, of course he'd be unhappy, the article was essentially click-bait, but the idea of him handing in a transfer request has basically spiralled from there.
As for Joe Lolley, that story came from Simon Jones of the daily mail, who I don't think I've seen get single thing right about Villa, and it's not for the want of trying.

Harry Forrester has been told to leave rangers for free. Shame, he was one of the most talented players I watched in our academy. Something has gone on with him. Was wondering if for free on low wages we might be able to reinvigorate him but I think he's too far past it now.

I had great expectations of him, didn't realise that he ended up at Rangers.
What a shame as he had absolutely oodles of ability, a real disappointment as I used to mention him to everyone I met as the next great talent!
It is all too late now for him, what an utter waste!

So if we sell Amavi and Elphick can we expect a new arrival? If so who will it be?

Depressingly I find myself completely not bothered at the thought of potential signings now, I figure that whoever it'll be will be played out of position before being sidelined within a handful of games without showing any of the form they had before signing for Villa. I don't know, maybe we'll sign Samba again and use him in goal because of his size?

Seriously, are you stupid? He'll play a rush goalie and four strikers. You don't know anything

Skybet have us at 3-1 to sign Snodgrass and reports on Twitter suggest we've enquired about taking him on loan. Would be brilliant for us but would West Ham accept a loan? Getting rid of Mccormack and Amavi should free up the wages so we shouldn't have any problems there tbh.

Snodgrass would be good but I said that about Lansbury and Hourihane!

It's all over twitter that Amavi is going to Marseille, for an initial 2 million euros loan fee, and then another eight million euros next summer. I suppose we'll have to use the loan fee to bring in a replacement, unless Bruce likes Borg.

Prefer an outright fee for Amavi but beggars can't be choosers in the situation we find ourselves in with FFP.
Do we really need a replacement, I don't think so as we desperately need to reduce the squad size and we have adequate replacements for Amavi.

Re: Summer transfer window 2017/18
We need another left-back, fi Taylor gets injured then it's not a good situation for us, it's alright saying this or that player can play there, but if we're to challenge for promotion we'll need a specialist. We were linked to Marvin Johnson earlier in the window, I think he's a player like Amavi who can play either left-back on or left wing, but he's since been linked to Leicester, so will have to see.
I like the idea of Snodgrass he's younger than I thought though, and as such will probably still get offers from other Premier league teams.

Daily Mail are linking us to Snodgrass now... but it's come from Simon Jones, who I'm sure makes things up as he goes along, in the same article he states that we're interested in Jordan Rhodes, he only signed for Wednesday on a permanent deal last month.

Re: Summer transfer window 2017/18
Has anyone seen any recent Twitter activity from that avfctransfers1 guy?
I can't see anything myself at the moment, so have been wondering if he has gone dark as I haven't seen anyone else mention anything as having come from him.

Can't see his account, but saw a tweet someone sent to him, asking if he had a good holiday, so presumably he's been away.

Xia has just replied with 'yes' to someone asking him if the Snodgrass link is a rumour. 'Rumour' is Xia speak for it isn't happening.

Looks like the Amavi sale to Marseille is all but sealed. Reports claims the deal for 2m loan fee and 8m at the end of the season is done. And he's travelling to France for his medical.
Now we're gonna have to get a left-back replacement. I can see us probably loaning someone from the premiership or getting a cheap, young left-back from abroad somewhere.
