Re: January '17 Transfer Window
Written by James Nursey as well who's usually wrong, just hope he hasn't guessed and stumbled on the truth this time. Doesn't make sense to me, I can't even imagine Grealish wanting to go there, they might be in the Championship next year, surely he'd rather be with us in that situation.

After the joy of the transfer window so far this would cast a dark shadow over it for me. Say what you want about grealish but he is 21years old and has shown what he can do. Yes he's inconsistent and a bit to cocky but to sell him to boro would be madness and if for financial reasons would raise serious questions for me. Hope it's bs story I really so. Sell Westwood ayew Hutton bacuna etc not out best prospect for years

Actually reading Xia's tweet again I think him saying 'we know what we should do' is him agreeing with the message he's replying to. The last sentence is obviously him saying this kind of speculation happens all the time with good players.

Have you seen xias tweet about it? What do you think he means? Id say he knows what he's doing and good players always attract attention? I hope anywayDe Kuip wrote:Newspaper bullshit. End of.

Think a sensible solution would be a loan swap - Grealish for Rhodes until end of season. Give both parties a chance to make an informed decision based on performance.

Dammit, I like Ayew, just don't think he's been played properly.
So that leaves us with Kodjia. Oh, and McCormack, Gabby and Audrey, all of whom have issues. We'd best be getting in a very good replacement. I don't know if that's Rhodes, I suppose we'll find out.

I think (hope) that it is more along these lines as that makes more sense to me.

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
Ayew and Kodjia would make a good partnership I think if they were played up front together.
I don't really see where Grealish would fit in now ... possibly behind a single striker but I don't think that's a great way to play. Wide positions are seemingly secured by new signings.
I'd like to see him now there's a better midfield but he'd need to improve massively for me to think rejecting an offer is worth it

When we play one striker they're often dragged out wide and we're then left with no one in the middle. I can see Grealish effective in a free role behind and around the main striker, whether that be Kodjia or someone else. What I can see though is Kodjia being played but with someone like Rhodes up there with him, leaving no space for Grealish.

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
We'll find out if Ayew is selfish because he's had no one decent around him who he trusts more with the ball or if he's just a cock.
Grealish has two problems: he's had little but low quality around him (match day and training) and he has a total cock-spank for an agent (daddy). Sadly there's nothing to be done about him but now Grealish has some very decent, hard working, hard running, experienced players around him, I'd hope to see him light the place up when he gets a run.
But if he doesn't do it soon then fuck him off. With Gardner and Westwood.

Yeah I think he was saying I'm a Villa fan just like you, but with lots more experience running a business, and this sort of thing - enquiries about good people - happens all the time.
Although he might just as well be saying "My hovercraft is full of eels" for all the fecking sense I can make of it.

Think the side could be:
-------------------Johnstone----------------
Hutton--------Chester------Baker------Amavi
--------------------Jedinak------------------
-----------Lansbury-------Hourahane------
Adomah--------------------------Bjarneson
-------------------Kodjia--------------------
That leaves lots of positive options available to us from the bench:
Elphick, Bacuna, Tshibola, Ayew, Grealish,
Agbonlahor, Bree, Green, Davis and perhaps RHM.

I think he's just having a bit of fun, engaging with the fans. Letting us know that we're making progress with our transfer intentions without giving anything away. Him liking that tweet above pretty much confirms that we have no plans to sell Grealish.

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
I find Grealish very frustrating at the moment because his attitude is defying his talent.
Remember Jack
"YOUR ATTITUDE DETERMINES YOUR ALTITUDE!!!"
This is so true in any walk of life, you have a choice... Either focus on the negative, self destructive things in life, (usually things chosen when attempting to impress mates, girls or whatever) or you can choose to focus on improving yourself, mastering your profession and becoming successful..YOU CANNOT DO BOTH TOGETHER!!!! It's a sacrifice which you either choose to accept ..or not.
Jack appears to have chosen the former although it's not too late to change it. He will not rise until he makes that choice and as each year passes his behaviour will become more and more of a habit and more difficult to change.
I hope he can stay here, start making the right choices and go on to great things but it's looking less and less likely.

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
As far as Grealish is concerned I think selling him is a bad decision, both for AVFC and Jack.
He is going to struggle to get into the team now and the right thing for him to do is to knuckle down and fight for his place.
People are saying "get rid, he's overrated" but I don't agree. He's underachieving. The talent is there for all to see (even my Brother-in-Law, who's a Nose, agrees on this).
Why is he underachieving? Some of this is down to immaturity, no doubt. Some is down to the circumstance the Club finds itself in. Some of the onus is on the Club to get his head right and get him playing.
Part of that is to get good players around him. Very few creative players of Jack's age would prosper in our immobile, power-puff midfield, where the back four is under constant pressure and you spend most of your time watching the ball sail backwards and forwards over your head.
He needs license to roam forward with a solid midfield platform behind him. Then he can show his talent, either at the tip of a midfield diamond or in a No.10 role behind Kodjia. I'm not suggesting he should start every game right now but, if we nurture him, I think there's a real gem in there. I shudder to say it, but The Snake, with his relentless box-to-box energy & industry, allowed Grealish to show what he could do. (Unless you're reading this Snake, in which case you were, and always have been, GASH!! )
I said on Twitter today, we've let too many academy products leave, who have gone on to flourish at other clubs. Davis, Cahill, Albrighton, Robinson, Sturridge.
Let's learn from the mistakes of the past.

I'd sell anyone for the right price anytime, unless they are McGrath , we've had very few Gods.

Love it when certain propositions "raise questions" about the money behind the club. As if anyone of us has a fucking clue about the inner financial workings of running a world famous football club (or international business dealings in general). Absolutely laughable. We're out of the trust-fund era, so maybe it's time for an era of trust?

True.
Even Stan Collymore, who I see as an intelligent and eloquent man, when asked what he thought of Villa's current Transfer Window business, tweeted that he 'would like to know where all the money is coming from'.
As my numerous (yawn) FFP posts show, understanding the rules is difficult enough. Trying to guess at the Club's status in relation to those rules is impossible. Too many variables. If we ever get hit with a transfer embargo, we won't know until it's practically upon us.
As for how 'canny' our owner might be at managing our FFP status, remains to be seen.
