0-0 HT Time
Midfield slogging battle - looks set to be decided by wonder strike or an error - Gollini has looked a bit ropey.
Im not as anti-gabby has some - but his inclusion hasn't worked tonight.

22 players who have looked like they can't be fucked and both teams keep playing it back which fucks me right off at the best of times but it's like they've got a little competition to see who can put their fans to sleep sooner.
Carrow Road seems like a fucking cemetary too.

Nothing he could do. Elphick blocked his view and didn't close down. He was totally at fault

Utter rubbish. Thus far the manager has dropped a bollock with the starting 11. We don't look like scoring at all, totally inept going forward and no threat at all. Very disappointing

Probably the most inept performance so far this season.

Never thought I'd say it but we need Baker back, Elphick is not the messiah we were expecting

far to defensive. we seem to hope to get to the hour at 0-0 - then win the game in the last 20. Always a high risk strategy. we have the players to take the game to norwich for 90 minutes

That was fucking dreadful. Totally imbalanced, no effort and couldn't pass the ball. Why does ayew thing he's Messi and tries taking everyone on. Don't want to see him again. Midfield is piss poor and offers nothing at all. Pissed off!

When Kodjia isn't up front we are poor. Doesn't take a genius does it? I've no problem in Gabby being in the side but he shouldn't be taking the position of our best goalscorer!

Two defeats in three, and only just scrambled a win against Wigan. Not in great form, and QPR next, which I think is a must win game.
Very poor team selection today especially with the two man midfield. I honestly think we'd benefit from giving McCormack a run of games, a guy who's been one of the top scorers and assist makers in this division for the last seasons. It's ridiculous that Agbonlahor should get in the side before him.
I'm starting to doubt that we'll make the play-offs this year, think we've had our good run already. I've given up the ghost on automatic promotion after tonight.

They wouldn't be the answer to our prayers, but I can't help feeling that we'd perform so much better with Tshibola and Bacuna in midfield and McCormack up front. I'm even starting to wonder if it's time to give Hepburn-Murphy a chance.

Think that was the problem tonight, absolutely shocking lineup, it was totally unbalanced!
Bruce has to accept the responsibility for that performance and lets just ditch Gabby enough is enough, lets get tough!
The QPR game has now become critical and could reflect what we do in the transfer window because if we drop away too much it will be pointless to just throw money at it!

Re: Norwich v Aston Villa, Carrow Road, Tuesday 13th Dec. 17.45. Build up and matchday thread.
That was frankly embarrassing to watch. I counted TEN times we gave the ball away directly to a Norwich player when our player wasn't even under any pressure AND THAT WAS IN THE FIRST 15 MINUTES!!!
Shockingly bad and it was that bad it got turned it off in our house after 10 minutes of the second half as i just coudn't bear to watch it any longer as it was 100% obvious we were going to lose.
Well done Villa on handing a leg up to a promotion rival (Although i use that term half jokingly as really there is not a cat in hells chance that promotion will happen to our lot this season based on that drivel)
Totally depressing and what a waste of money & time for the poor souls who went tonight.
DISGUSTED!

My concern is that Bruce got a new manager bounce out of that shower a bit like Sherwood but that it might head south from here. I seriously hope I'm wrong and we'll soon be looking at these last few games as a blip in our upwards trajectory.

Player ratings
Gollini - Poor, looks very average.
Hutton - Comical
Amavi - Pick of a rubbish bunch
Westwood - Well, we all know don't we
Jedinak - Solid but shocking distribution
Grealish - Rubbish and lost count of the times he passed to a Norwich player or wasted possession when under no pressure
Kodija - Awful
in fact i can't even be bothered with the rest as they were all just crap.
Summary.... STILL... won't be wasting my time & money on going to a game at the moment.

Elphick seems like a very decent bloke who has a great attitude but he is not good enough unfortunately.

Re: Norwich v Aston Villa, Carrow Road, Tuesday 13th Dec. 17.45. Build up and matchday thread.
I genuinely did not realise that Westwood was on the pitch until the camera zoomed in on him when Norwich had a corner in the 32nd minute. And so then I started paying closer attention to him and I didn't see him touch the ball until 5 minutes into the 2nd half.
I've defended him before but there's absolutely no excuse for him now. That was unbelievably poor. Especially when you see that his midfield partner was involved in repelling just about every Norwich attack and, although massively limited with the ball, showed for all the time.
Gollini looks like the talk of ending his Villa career has knocked his confidence.
Hutton is just shit and has micro-sleeps every few minutes.
Elphick is crap and drags Chester down with him.
Amavi is either very good and very fucked. There's little in between.
Grealish looked like he'd had a hard night on the pipe.
Gabby did about as much as Westwood. And gave the ball away that cost us the game. McCormack did more in 30 seconds than he did all match.
Ayew is a show pony. Get rid.
Kodjia seriously needs to stop watching Christiano Ronaldo videos before the game. He needs to be up-front and not on the wing but even so, some of what he does is just stupid.
Bruce: has utterly fucked this game. Poor selection to start with, poor tactics, left changes far too late. His first real major fuck up.
The ref: missed what I though was a nailed-on penalty at the death. Was he not watching the game??
A thoroughly shit game that tells me that unless Xia is really prepared to spend next month, we are bollocksed. No way in the world will we get promoted.
