7-game points haul
Our next 7 games.
Forest (h)
Brentford (h)
Ipswich (a)
Newcastle (h)
Barnsley (a)
Preston (a)
Wolves (h)
I said in the transfer thread that it'll take time for us to settle as a team but I'd like to see 12 points from our next 7 games.
That'll be an interesting run of games there with Newcastle and a local derby thrown in.
And I'll stick with my 12 points.
I'll put a poll up and let's keep tabs as to who's closest.

3 wins, 2 draws, 2 losses. We have some tough games and this team needs to gel. I think the next 7 games after these is when we'll start to see a bigger points haul.

Re: Our next 7 games.
I think these will be tough games
I see
Forest 1 point
Brentford 3 points
Ipswich 1 point
Newcastle 0 points
Barnsley 0 points
Preston 3 points
Wolves 0 points
So 8 points is my guess. I am taking into account we have had a pretty poor start and will surely take a good 6 to 12 games to get fully cohesive.

15, the new players will add competition and better balance, the break will give the coaches time to get them clicking together.
The work starts now, its our time to shine.

We'll be on FIRE lads . I think the key will be the first two home games. Win them and I think the confidence gained will make us very difficult to deal with. If there isn't a win though then it might be a spell of ups and downs during that run.
No doubt the Toon game should be an absolute cracker though...they'll be out for revenge again after what happened last time.

Anything like 12 points will be very good I reckon.
I'm going for 21 points. Someone had to say it.

Re: Our next 7 games.
I'm putting pressure on now for this new team to go out and get wins, no hiding behind "gelling" etc. Go out and win your home games and pick up what you can on the road (which seems the bigger mental obstacle to overcome). The season for us starts now. 3 or 4 home wins and pick up a couple or so on the road. I want a minimum 15pts from that next 7 games.

I seem to be agreeing with Joppe on a daily basis! I'm saying 21 points too and I'll add in a plus 16 goal difference too

Re: Our next 7 games.
This thread highlights the stark difference between Xia and Lerner; hope and expectation vs misery and disappointment.
At the moment though, we've only 1 win this season. The pressure on the team is most definitely ON. Failure to get 10 points in these next 7 games will see the ugliness in the crowd resume. Because whilst Xia has already put a lot of credit in his bank, RDM hasn't and whilst the fans understand that things are all very new and time is needed, patience and understanding are compotes that have been pretty much exhausted from the last 5 years of bleakness.

Re: Our next 7 games.
1 point on the board so far. Brentford tonight is a game everyone is hoping we'll click for and utterly cane them.
However, Rotherham aside, they've had some decent results and are a hell of a lot higher in the table than us. If we lose this, I can honestly see that Ipswich and Newcastle are job-saving games for RDM. With Newcastle seemingly over their shaky start, I'd not fancy having to beat them to save my job.
So tonight is a "must win".

A lot of optimistic forecasts and why not, based on our attacking options.
Just not feeling it though. Really not sure that RDM is the man to instil a winning mentality.
6-9 points for me.

Who in their right mind would have guessed that we'd be unbeaten so far in these games but yet feel so dejected? This game is utterly bonkers.
