Re: 2016 Summer Transfer Speculation
If RDM does come in then one thing to keep an eye on are the Chelsea youngsters. I can see us loaning a few tbh and maybe even signing some as RDM will be fully aware of their talents.

Re: 2016 Summer Transfer Speculation
Liverpool Face Aston Villa and Crystal Palace Opposition For Ajax Talent
Crystal Palace and Aston Villa have entered the chase for Liverpool linked Ajax winger Anwar El Ghazi, according to Sky Italia.
The 21-year-old winger has been attracting attention of scouts from all over Europe with his performances for Ajax for some time, and scored eleven goals in the recently concluded season in the Netherlands.
While Liverpool are said to be the favourites to land him and Palace can still offer him Premier League football, recently relegated Aston Villa are confident that they can lure El Ghazi to Villa Park this summer.
Randy Lerner recently sold Aston Villa to the Recon Group, owned by Chinese businessman Dr Tony Jiantong Xia, and it has been claimed that the club’s new owners have a good relationship with super agent Jorge Mendes, who manages El Ghazi’s career.
And despite their relegation to the Championship, the club could use the relationship to convince Mendes to take his client to the Midlands club this summer.

Re: 2016 Summer Transfer Speculation
Story was originally published by Di Marzio, who apparently have a good reputation and a reputation for breaking stories, on clients of Jorge Mendes. We might not get this particular player but it says a lot for our intentions, if we are at least trying.
Here's a link to the original story, although It's in Italian.

Re: 2016 Summer Transfer Speculation
I hoping RDM will favour natural talent. I think he likes players, not average types who get into teams by luck/default.
He may probably favour a 4-2-3-1.............
A goalkeeper is a must, I think Bunn is ok ish as backup. Guzan, nice guy, who tries, but is far from a natural. I'd really prefer Steer as the number 2 if honest.
The 2 holders could be Gana and Sanchez, they are good, although they need work, Sanchez is better then what we have seen, but how long does he get?
The 3, we have to try Jack, give him a run at the start of the season. Veretout on the other side for me, both are naturals and if coached and managed correctly will both excel in the champ. We need a CM/captain, a really solid maybe even older experienced pro.
Up front would have to be Ayew for this footballing formation. With Gestede and other correct personnel on the bench, we can be very adaptable.
Which brings me to the back 4, Amavi picks himself if fit. As much as I like Hutton's effort, he's not a natural. He has to give it everything to be average IMO. We bring in someone or promote from within. The middle 2, controversially I'd say Okore is our best CB so he's in for me. Clark and Baker might be ok but I would prefer better and if we can get 5m for Clarke I would take it.
All in I think we need then a GK, RB, CM............. If we can get better in, considering our predicament, then I welcome it, but realistically, what can we really hope for. Maybe some good loans, or some elder statesmen on 1 or 2 year contracts? This all depends on whether the rated players we do have stay on or go.......... I don't think many will go TBH, the "TEAM" are considered useless and their agents will have their work cut out to move even the best of them.
It is imperative that RDM knows who the shit toxic squad are, Black couldn't work it out, he kept playing the idiots.
RDM was not my 1st choice, however, with the backroom team being mentioned I am very much warming to him and hope it all works out.
Regarding the Doctor, lets hope he is not a bullshitter, lets all hope that this really is the start of OUR time, because we all deserve it.
Just thinking out load above, I'd rather see a balls out loud old school flying wingers 442 in the championship
P.S. To take advantage of the massive Chinese market we can expect one of the big name Chinese players in at some point (if there is one)

The Jorge Mendes talk is very interesting. I wonder if those links are with Wyness and Samuelson maybe? Whatever the case it's a big bonus to have relationships with the best agents as it could give us leeway when it comes to purchasing players.

Being linked to Graham Dorrans from Norwich, the ex Baggie. Di Matteo used to work with him during his time at there and he was apparently a big part of their promotion winning team. Seems like the type we need to be fair :)

Exactly the sort of signing we should make. Right age, right quality, proven goalscorer, experience from the Championship and English. And we really need to get that English core right.

Got a major injury - then IIRC had a family bereavement and never got back to his best. Probably would cost very little and be a useful addition .

Re: 2016 Summer Transfer Speculation
If Bamford would be a good signing, then it follows he'd be a good signing because he scores goals. £10M is about the going rate, and with Bamford he's got the thing of coming from Chelsea also he's still young so could grow with the team and end up being a good striker for us in the top flight.

Bam Bam isn't a £10m player yet but definitely someone we should be in for, for a good price.

Re: 2016 Summer Transfer Speculation
For the last three or so seasons I've wanted us to buy Kasper Schmeichel and Bamford, they are the kind of players we should have been looking to. Bamford is precisely the kind of player we should be bringing in right now. No one wanted to come to us while owned by Lerner, managed by whoever hadn't previously heard of us and propping up the Premier League but with new owners and a manager we'd have been lucky to have had in the PL, we are suddenly the new best thing in the Championship. Previously we could barely attract PL and Championship castoffs like Richardson and Lescott, now we can offer a very realistic way in to the PL for some very good players.
