RDM announced and hey Presto the scousy scum come straight in doing what they have always done best, i.e. poaching everyone else's best players.
Let them have him on the understanding that they also take Gabby, Richards, Lescott & Bacuna

Just wondering if anyone thinks that amongst the players we do eventually sign, whether or not we'll sign someone who is a real shock - I mean in a good way, like "WTF wow, how have we managed to get them to sign!!??" If so any predictions who it might be?
Just for a bit of fun and for the hell of it I'll say Matija Nastasic as CB.

Apparently Messi has vowed never to go to the holy land as the last really famous person there was hammered with tax.
Yep, thought so, that joke only works verbally....

Re: Team for the Championship??
We can highlight at a lot of our players and point out where they've been decent in the past. But you're only as good as your last year and, for most of them, what they showed last season SHOULD be career ending. Bastards!
Sinclair though...at least he tried. And he didn't act the cock off-field. And you could argue that he was limited by the players around him.
So I'm on the fence with him. Maybe a rebuilt team will allow him to perform at a higher level but I get the impression he's pretty "Meh". If he stays, let's see what he does. If he leaves, I'll have forgotten he ever played for us in about 6 weeks.

I think Hutton would be perfect for the Chanpionship. He can get forward against Prem sides so he'll have no issues against most of the opposition we'll face. Defensively he just needs to learn not to switch off. RDM will sort that.

Re: Team for the Championship??
I would like to see an older head in the midfield and someone who can actually pass? Someone to do a job like Barton did for Burnley. He's gone which may be a blessing but someone like Gary O'Neill or my personal choice Leon Osman?
And I would love a real goal scorer, McCormack or Wells?

new goalkeeper ,Hutton New C/b Clark Amavi//
Lyden Gardner Grealish NEW midfielder//, Adama, Ayew,,, Baker/Toner could do a job with Clark as Baker has been good at Bristol Nobel would be a good choice imo , we could then look at some class players with transfer kitty and the small amount from transfers

Re: Team for the Championship??
The key is getting rid of the bad apples. All of them. I don't care if he's "Mr.Aston Villa" and was named club captain, Gabby admitted he was a prick so we should test the skill of his lawyer and terminate his contract without payout.
Lyden seems to have a good attitude and so hopefully that will rub off on players who should know better and be considered more senior like Grealish.
I'm actually more excited about getting rid dross than seeing who comes in.

Hutton has the right attitude but he can't cross for toffee. Okore and Amavi are key players, Clark and Hutton would do the job.

Think I'd want to see Adama-Ayew-Grealish playing behind someone like McCormack/new striker if RDM goes with a 4-2-3-1.

With some focused training, Hutton's crossing could be improved. I got the feeling watching him this season that he was either instructed what to do without any analysis of how to make it better or he was playing a little off-piste and trying to make something happen.
Proverbial ball and bollock dropping aside, Hutton is one of few players over the last 12mnths that I'd say appeared to give a shit, he just clearly hasn't had the coaching he needs to give him a more solid game.

Not worried about Huttons crosses but definitely worried about him falling asleep at the back post?

Re: Team for the Championship??
I reckon we need a striker with genuine pace to stretch teams, possibly Nakhi Wells? Andre Gray would have been perfect if Burnley hadn't gone up. I reckon we should also look into trying to prise Iorfa and Dicko off the Wanky Wanderers n all.

Re: Team for the Championship??
I'd normally never recommend us signing Norwegian players, and while we've undergone a generation change recently and not gotten to the euros, we still have relatively cheap internationals that would improve us and I think they hold PL quality.
One guy I've mentioned before and that's Diomande at Hull. I think he's quality. Joshua King at Bournemouth has improved by a lot as well. They could easily replace Gabby. A midfielder that went from Rosenborg to Saint Etienne last year called Selnæs is very interesting. A couple more as well, but depending on our budget they could be good buys.

Josh i like most part of that team and spine mate however i feel there would be a lack of striker depth and goal output in that squad, we would certainly need options from the bench and when injuries occur thats why i think Gestede is a must for the Championship depending on RDM's style that is but reading he is after Ghazi a winger tells me he realises we have a 20/25 goals scorer in the squad already proven in the Championship.

Re: Team for the Championship??
I gotta say, I think Hutton deserves to play a role.
He's not the best defender to don a villa top, but when you consider his time on the bomb-squad, and how his career has been effectively pissed on by our management team (Whether it was Lambo, or whoever)....
Great attitude, and it seems he really loves the shirt.
He's definitely not a starting right back for the PL, but I hope he can be a strong squad player for the championship, and really hope he continues to get recognition.
As much as I think e.g. Okore has a lot of promise, his attitude is very different from Huttons. (I couldn't find anything of him mouthing off, despite 2 years out of the squad)
Think we need to keep professional's like him at the club, even if it's just to teach other players what you ought to do when you're drawing a wage like they do.
