So, how's this one going to pan out?
Match Thread Aston Villa v Liverpool 14th February 14:05
So, here we go again Ladies and Gentleman, the latest match thread and it comes on the back of a bloody victory and an Agbonlahor goal. I'd love to know what celestial alignments took place last week that caused that conjunction.
However, a note of caution: NSFW
Norwich were shite but they still had several big chances to score. That's a worry because, despite their name, Liverplop are actually less shite in front of goal and if we gift them the opportunities we did Norwich, we have a problem. They won't be so profligate, I don't think.
As for us, well, we were good enough and there was some really good performances - notably Gana - and the collective was up for it. They have a chance to show it again in front of a home crowd and if they get at them we could do it.
Physioroom has Gestede, Hutton and Sanchez expected to be available, which would give Remi more options. Just a pity Kozak is out for the season.
Anyhoo, I'll stick to the lucky charm tradition and predict a victory for us. To paraphrase Gorgeous George from Snatch, "I fucking hate scousers". I hate their lachrymose, victim mentality. I hate their cheeky chappie loveable rogue personae. I hate unfunny scouse wankers like "Tarbie" and Bishop. I hate that God-awful accent. I really hate that cnut Cilla Black, even if she is dead. My hate outlives her. The Liver Birds and Bread was shite. Carla Lane was only knocking out funny stuff when she wrote "Butterflies" - set miles away from Liverpool, geographically and socially. Fact is, my Ma comes from there and even she opted to support Everton. Anyway, enough of the bin dippers. Here it is:
Someone in C&B is to do this tomorrow, in fact more than once.
Villa win. 2-1. You can take that to the bank, Mervyn.
Usual multiple selections available to insult the arsebiscuits as well as make a match prediction. Pick as many as you want.

Last week Garde said Kozak was out for a month. Has this been extended now?

Agree with everything Ember said I hate the Red Shite too.
We are up for this I think - if only to show Tekkers he made the wrong choice. The lady-boy Stirling to get sent off for diving.
3-0

Last I heard was he had fractured his ankle but there seems to be conflicting information. A I said, physioroom has him out until May, which is essentially season over, but Garde says "a little fracture" and a month.mefromhere wrote:Last week Garde said Kozak was out for a month. We'll just have to see who is correct, Garde or the website. Frankly, I'd be surprised if an ankle fracture was only a month but this is a subject for the Kozak thread.

I broke my ankle last Summer and was laid up for 11 weeks end to end. But I'm not a professional athlete with access to a full and intensive rehabilitation programme!

Judging from his broken leg debacle, neither has Kozak unless he goes to Italy again for diagnosis and treatment.VTID85 wrote:ember wrote:Last I heard was he had fractured his ankle but there seems to be conflicting information. Seriously, though, even with a rehab programme why would it be sooner? He's got to get a bone in an area of the body that takes all his weight to be healed and strong enough to bear that weight, twist, turn, run, jump, kick and have got himself fit enough to do that for 90 minutes within three months?

What it seems to suggest is that the board should listen to Garde next time he tells them to buy a player or two. I feel bad for Kozak, he seems genuinely to want to play for Villa.

Scouse win, Benteke hat trick triggers mass suicides of all the people that still haven't let go and moved on from the fact he has moved on with his career, those that don't top themselves go home and beat their boyfriends up and then pray to their life sized cut outs of Jack Grealish, whilst touching themselves, that Gary Gardner will come back and save us. All of which is utter bollocks apart from the Scouse win part.

Benteke to score at least two and the bin-dippers to claim he's the new Messi. Twats.

Ex players always have a point to prove against their old team - Kloppity would be daft not to play Ben10. Unfortunately, only Okore & Clark know him from training to play up his weaknesses.

Villa win, with the usual scouse gathering outside any shop that sells cheap shitty beer, from 8am on Sunday morning. All wearing their Champions League winning tops and scarfs. Tenants Super strength to be sold out by half nine Sunday morning and scousers to be asleep in every doorway by eleven am. Bins to be totally empty around Aston and Witton by Midday, if not before. Benteke to score after ten minutes and again just before half time. Villa to come out second half and put three past the hapless scouse keeper to send Villa Park into rapture. The scousers who fell asleep in shop doorways will then wake up with the theme tune from Brookside playing in their heads ready to phone their local radio station to give their analysis of the shop doorways they fell asleep in. "It's our fucking year" will be heard all day long. The local residents of Aston and Witton will have all their washing stolen from their washing lines as the pissed up scouse blokes remember it is Valentines day and try, in a vein attempt, to find their Mrs some sort of present to take back home. Service stations on the M6 to be overtaken as all the "It's our fucking year" crowd converge for a 3 course Kentucky Fried Chicken meal, whilst supping the remainder of their warm cans of Tenants Super.
That is all.
That is all.

Villa win... Liverpool haven't won their last 4 games (in all competitions) and Klopp would rather play with a false nine instead of Benteke. There will never be a better time to play them this season. If we can't win games like this, then we might as well give up, because there are plenty of harder fixtures to come.

I have to disagree, i think Liverpool will be a very hard game. They have Benteke, Sturridge is back, Coutinho is back. That's three players that can win a game on their own. Had this fixture been a couple weeks back then it may have been a better time, not now with those players featuring. All potential match winners, and then there's that Firminho who is beginning to look the part. We don't have one match winner, let alone four. I'll be pleasantly surprised if three points come our way. I'd take a point now.

Is there any point us turning up anymore, every time we look like we get a good result some top half team throws points at our rivals. And baggies as well, play shite against any one in the bottom half
