Is there a Sleeping-Giant killing on the cards?
FA CUP 3rd Round: Wycombe v Villa
It'll be interesting to see if Garde has the nerve to play the first team knowing that all and sundry will be ready to slaughter them when the inevitable happens!
My guess is that most of the first team will be hard at work on the training ground and fringe players/U21's will make up the bulk of the side.
I'd like to see Bunn in goal to see how he goes. Kozak up top.
A 1-0 loss for me.
Poll is open...have you say!

Lawro predicts us to win 0- 2, as he thinks Remi will put out a strong team.
I agree with Trotters that I don't think Remi will, therefore I have to go for a Wycombe win!
Wycombe's ground is horrible to get too, through an industrial estate and parking miles away but enjoy your day out Dan.

We will field a decent team, Garde will want to use this to get a shred of confidence from anywhere he can. Problem is Wycombe's probably about the same level as most of our players are capable of so it won't be an easy game for sure, they will be confident coming into this and be well up for it.

Yeah I know, went to the preseason game there a couple of seasons back. But got a cheap hotel so just getting there early and going on an all dayer - it's the only way I can watch the Villa lately!!!

I can't get it out of my head how many problems Notts County caused us at Villa Park and they are 17th whereas Wycombe are 6th in League 2, on top of that we are away, although that may be a blessing in disguise!

Re: FA CUP 3rd Round: Wycombe v Villa
It might have changed but last time I went to Wycombe I parked on Progress Road, with a few cars also parked on Lane End Road. Straight out after the match towards the M40, with no queues. The first time I went I parked on the road leading to the ground, took over an hour to go around 50 metres.
Going on the train and drinking heavily is probably the only way to watch Villa now though!
No idea on score, I think we should play the reserves and U21s, give them a chance to show what they've got.

Re: FA CUP 3rd Round: Wycombe v Villa
There's a chance of an upset here but i really can't see us winning any match at the moment so there likely won't be.
2-1 Wycombe
A lucky late goal for Wycombe. I think we'll have most of the possession and pull level after falling behind through some stupid mistake. but then after passing the ball around pointlessly and missing a few sitters Wycombe score with a few minutes remaining and our heads drop.
Thats how i imagine it'll pan out.
Winning games doesn't just reappear because you're playing a lower league team. this bunch of halfwits have 1 win in 20 and that was lucky!! So i really do not see Wycombe being at all scared of us.

This is a game Remi can't afford to lose. He hasn't won a game. Must put out a strong team. Even if it's playing the likes of Kozak who he thinks aren't good enough just to prove a point.
Hope he plays, and proves his worth. You never know, this could be the confidence building win to save our season.

We'll win. If we get an early goal, confidence will start to flow and we could demolish them. If we don't score early, we're going to struggle to find the winner until late in the game.

Look at what's happening to Liverpool, already 2-1 down to Exeter. They've fielded kids (including Ilori) and some bloke called Benteke.
All we can ask is the 11 on the pitch for us put in everything they've got.

I've gone for a Wycombe win as we are utterly clueless on how to defend and absolutely shocking in front of goal.

I foresee an U21 team who will romp over Wycombe and put our "stars" to shame!

I can see us winning, going on an unbeaten run that takes us to premier league survival and an F.A.cup final appearance in May,.............oh sorry stuck in a time warp, I'm still in January 2015.

Richards at right-back, Bunn, Okore, Gil - I'd love to end up looking back at this game as one where some changes were made without points at stake that turned out to be significant for the remainder of the season.
Fingers crossed for an FA cup upset - ie a (comfortable) Villa win.

Ayew not playing, does that mean they don't want him cup-tied in case he is sold in this transfer window, or am I reading too much into it?

Great goal, great build up.
There could be a real upset here, Villa might fucking win!
Worrying few minutes for Richards however.
