3 points is what we want. Will we get them ?

Can't wait to hear how the official site will spin this as a fantastic point, a real season-defining result. Draws are as bad as defeats now, need 10 wins from 20. What a joke.

On the plus side, we're now only nine points from safety.

I would argue it is a good point. Win the next 2 and because it's against the teams around us that's realistic and we are most likely three points away from safety. Considering how badly things looked a couple of weeks ago we are moving in the right direction.
If we can win the next two, and we looked very good playing with two up front today, then that's 8 points over Christmas and we can't complain about that.
On the other hand, lose either of them and I think it's curtains!

For being a team at the bottom of the table and winless in 17 games, we played extremely well today, but it showed that it isn't enough. We simply need better players. Hutton, Lescott, Gestede, Bacuna (at LB), Westwood, Sinclair, and Gil (as a winger) aren't good enough for us to keep clean sheets and score goals consistently.

I think it's done now unless we can get 6 points from the next 2 games. I can't see it frankly though sadly as we just don't score enough goals. We played as well as we have all season against a West Ham team minus a lot of their best players and only managed a point. That shows we are simply not good enough to climb clear unless miracles happen in the transfer window......so .... do you have faith that Lerner, Fox & co will pick the right players?

You know what, Ayew and Veretout are looking great and are for me the main players we need to build the team around now and wherever we are at the end of the season. We get in a top drawer striker and someone on the right wing who can both defend and attack, probably on loan, and we'll start looking a lot better up front. Ayew's scored five goals in nine matches, I suspect he's going to add a few more no matter which attacking position he's given. Get some support for the defence (for a start work out if we're going to use Illori or not) and if we continue to play a 4-1-4-1, some competition for Sanchez. There's some passion and fight back in the team again and with a little strengthening here and there we could be in with a chance.
Money talks though, I'd be promising healthy bonuses to the squad if we do stay up.
